I recently purchase a vehicle, and westlake was my finance company. I sent out a check for my 1st payment and it didn't clear through my bank, because my direct deposit of my paycheck did not hit when it was suppose to.
Westlake never contacted nor did my bank via mail or phone to inform me that the chack had not gone through, All I knew was the check was just never posting. This was back in the middle of Dec.
About 2 weeks ago someone contacted by phone when I answered the telephone someone on the other line was speaking spanish to me, I told them I did not speak spanish and I hung up the phone. (my last name is a hispanic last name by marriage,I'm white w/ blonde hair).
About 4 days ago I got a call from westlake claiming my check did not clear, I told them I was very sorry, and that I would make the Dec. and Jan. pmts on the 15th of Jan. and whatever late fees I had via money order or by western union. The women for whom I was speaking with informed that i couldn't do that that they needed the Dec. pmt wired to them within an hour, I explained to her that I didn't have the funds available at this time and I promised to have it to her 6 days from then on the 15th.
She rudely said NO I cannot except that you will be turned over to collections and hung up on me. 2 days later they reposed my truck and now claim I can't get it back unless I pay off the full amount of the loan.
I think these people are rude and stupid for assuming that I would only speak spanish because of my last name.

If she made her first payment and her payroll check did not clear at the time, wouldn,t the money be in the bank just a couple of days later????If so then why couldn't she mail her payment out ASAP like they wanted. She did owe the 1st payment didn't she??? She than stated that she did not have it after that, did she spend it. Maybe that is why her credit is not so good. So Westlake is a ripoff or Autumn????

sorry for you luck, but the one thing you do not understand is that the first paymeny on the contract was not made that means you are a "first payment default", this payment is the most important one of them all, now for was westlake, you know why you were sent there(credit not good)i suggest you ask to speak with the supervisor and explain you probelm and not be so rude she might help you. good luck
