Purchased a vehicle from a dealership and this company was to be financing the loan. Over a month after the purchase Westlake Financial decides they no longer wanted to do the loan, even though all documentation had been signed and received. Westlake forced dealership to take vehicle back because they elected to cancel the loan without regard to hardship they place on the consumer. Apparently they have a clause in their loan documents giving them the right to cancel the loan. I was NOT given any notice and now dealership refuses to refund downpayment of $1500.00. So, not only am I have to seek other financing if I wish to keep the vehicle, I will be forced to come up with more money down. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE A SCAM!

Observation...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 24, 2015

First off this is a PUBLIC web site, and as such the PUBLIC is allowed to respond with their comments.  Yes, that means that that you may get responses that go against your mantra of "Bank bad..Me good".  When you posted to this site, you no longer made it between the finance company and yourself, you put it out for the world to see.  If you want to control what people can say about this, then you need to start your own web site with your own rules.

Now, just a few comments on your situation, that by the way the other poster did hit the nail right on the head.

Every finance company has this "right of rescission", so this company is not unique.  As such they have the right to cancel the contract, and in this case they did.  Most likely because they couldn't verify something you told them.  Perhaps you had even worse credit than you indicated, perhaps you were not truthful about your income, perhaps you had undisclosed bills, perhaps they couldn't verify your employment and/or income at all.  Perhaps it was one of a dozen other things.  But again, they have that right to cancel it.

Now, normally when this happens the dealer would find you another lender, after all they don't want to loose a sale.  However, because this company is a sub-prime lender you were probably already at the bottom of the list.  Which is why the dealer wanted the car back, because they couldn't find any other lenders.

You say we don't know all of the facts.  Well guess what the only fact that matters is the fact that you signed a loan agreement that the finance company had a right of rescission, and they exercised that right.  The reason you are in this situation does NOT matter.  Creditors are not a charity, they don't care about the "back story" as to why your credit sucks.  They just want to make sure that if they loan you the money that they will get it back.  In this case they didn't feel that you would.

You can stomp your feet and throw a temper-tantrum like a toddler all you want, it won't change those "facts".

Oh and NO I do not or have I ever worked for them or any finance company...I've just signed a lot of contracts and am well aware of the terms.  But don't you worry your little head, these were my observations and I won't be responding to any of your additional posts.

You Just Don't Get It, Do You?

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Apparently your deeply ingrained Napoleonic Complex is in 100% control of you.  So let me tell you one more time Einstein, this is a PUBLIC WEBSITE and ANYBODY can post here.  Since you just can't stand it when somebody goes up against you, my suggestion is for you to go elsewhere.  You may be able to get away with telling your former spouse what to do but that won't happen here.  None of us is going to runaway like a scared puppy dog because of you.  You have no authority here.  Nobody died to leave you boss.  If you don't like that, too bad. You have no power here to do anything.  You have every power to improve your financial destiny and stop being a deadbeat.  Everybody here knows you are a deadbeat because YOU told us so!  Westlake is a subprime lender.  You were PLACED with them because NO BANK wanted to do business with you because YOU gave yourself a deadbeat reputation. It doesn't matter about any of the 1000 excuses you give for being a deadbeat because the subprime deadbeat lenders don't care.  Most of the time these subprime deadbeat lenders will finance the average deadbeat but in your case, your reputation must be industrial strength because even they turned you down!  Amazing!

So don't waste your time trying to pull your Napoleon Complex here because its just not going to work.  This is the USA and if you don't like that, Cuba will gladly take you.  Here in our country, we have the freedom of speech!

Typical Deadbeat Response

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 22, 2015

First, don't come here telling people what to do or what not to do.  If you don't like the idea of somebody "thwarting" you or somebody who won't stroke you and tell you what you want to hear, then don't post on a public site. Divorce?  Golly, I wonder why!

As many of us have seen over and over and over hundreds of times here, when a deadbeat comes here to wail and stomp their feet and someone responds with a perfectly on target rebuttal, the deadbead's typical response is "you must work for them" along with embellishment of their story and of course, blaming everyone else for their deadbeat status.

By the way, Jim.... I went through a divorce...and my ex was the one that filed bankruptcy and left me holding responsibility towards all our debts, debts I did not run out on and have been paying towards...so before going on some ramblings...make sure you know the facts and what a person has endured. As it only makes you look like a judgmental idiot.

Do you work for Westlake Financial Services???? Or are you just some person that randonly goes online making comments and remarks when a person makes a ripoff report claim? Either way, until you have all your facts and unless you work for the company themselves, please butt out of this matter. This is between me and the company to which the allegations are against.

Quite Possibly A Scam

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 20, 2015

Any lender has the right to back out of the deal before the loan is funded, meaning the lender paying the dealer.

Quite possibly a scam?  Lets see.  You were not financed by a bank and you were PLACED with this subprime/deadbeat loan company.  They saw your reputation of NOT paying your previous creditors and quite possibly determined they didn't want to do business with you.  Of course, other possibilities arise too, such as YOU not being able to prove income, proper insurance or other alleged "facts" on your application.  The matter of the down payment is between you and the dealer.  A "scam" is when somebody fails to do what they said they would do, such as making their payments on time.  Perhaps to obtain better bank financing, you shouldn't have scammed your previous creditors!
