Westlake financial is terrible, I've had multiple issues with them. Everything from lack of empathy to straight up rudeness. They have changed my due date for my loan permanently when I was told it was a one month change then they refused to change it back stating the reason that when they changed it, it put me one month behind on my payments. I've been experiancing problems with my vehicle for the past year, its been overheating. Sice this has started I've taken it into multiple mechanics and have spent a thousand dollars trying to get this issue corrected. The finance company (only in the ladt week) told me that I could email in a copy of the recipt from the shop and they woukd push a payment back for me. I did and they did. Turns out, replacing the heater hose and heater head wasnt the issue, so it was another 200.00 worth of work that didnt help. That on top of replacing the thermostat housing, thermostat, water pump, timing belt, radiator and multiple hoses hasnt fixed the issue but sure has run up my bill. I called into westlake financial today finally fed up with the car, asking them to dwlay the next three payments or until I could figure out whats causing the issue and get it fixed (if that happens sooner) because I couldnt afford to keep dumping money into my vehicle as well as paying my 300.00 a month car payment. The first time I spoke to someone, she disconnected the call, claiming that she was teansferring me. The second time, when I told the woman my issue and what I was going through and that I no longer wanted to pay 300 a month for a car I couldnt drive  she was very rude,  she flat out told me no because of the delayed payment I had already gotte. For attempting to fix the immobile mess of a vehicle. Again this woman was an emotional 2x4, no attempt at empathy or connecting with the customer. I told her that in that case I will not be paying the car payment or attempting any more repairs on the vehicle. Her retort was "well, you know thats going to affect your credit right?" My response to the scare tactic she was attempting was less than professional.  the conversation ended with her submitting a voluntary surrender request but informing me that it most likely wont get approved because the car isnt currently running, and westlake doesnt take broken down vehicles. "Well neither do I" was my response.  I have delt with westlake for 3 years and every time I have called them its been a terrible hassle,  even to just pay my bill, when I thought they were doing something good for me it always turned around to bite me in the butt. I suggest everyone stay away.

The Real Story

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 29, 2014

This isn't a matter of "customer service".  They are BILL COLLECTORS who are calling you because YOU choose to not pay your bills on time.  This is a SUBPRIME lender whom you were placed with because no bank wanted to do business with you.  Why?  Because YOU gave YOURSELF a documented reputation for NOT paying your bills on time.  Problems with the car, whether a smokescreen or real have NOTHING to do with your financial obligation.  This deadbeat loan company or any other is under ZERO obligation to "help" you, provide advice or listen patiently while you cry on their shoulder.  They are a business.  They loaned you money which YOU AGREED to pay back.  They are not your mother, your clergyman, your financial counselor.

You Appear Confused

AUTHOR: coast - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 15, 2014

You appear confused as to the terms of a loan agreement.

The finance company is not required to alter the terms of a loan agreement. Your failure to have the vehicle properly diagnosed and repaired is not their problem.

They agreed to provide you with a loan. Empathy was not part of the agreement.

You Are Mixed Up

You have a loan from this SUBPRIME lender.  Your contract tells you payments are due on a due date.  It does NOT tell you "payments are due when you can afford to pay."  The mechanical issues are one matter.  The FACT you agreed to make payments AS PER THE CONTRACT is a different matter.  It doesn't matter if the runs, doesn't run, or whatever, the PAYMENTS are still due when they are due.  You probably have a job or have had a job.  You were paid on payday.  You expected that and would expect no excuse.  It works exactly the same way for this SUBPRIME lender.  Oh yes, you were PLACED with a SUBPRIME lender because YOU gave yourself a reputation of not paying your bills on time.  Perhaps its time to take responsibility for yourself and find a way to pay your bills on time, everytime.  No, I don't work for them.
