2-10 home Buyers Warranty is a total RIP OFF!  We had our trane heat pump condenser go out 5 months after mfg. warranty expired. We contacted 2-10, our home warranty insurer, to get it repaired/replaced.  After over a month, they decided to replace our Trane heat pump condenser with a Goodman.  Our whole system was installed new in 2006. So now they want to give us a far less quality product and mis match our system, even though their own warranty contract states that mis matched systems WILL NOT be covered under the standard warranty and that an additional coverage has to be purchased by home owner in order to cover their mis matched replacement. 
   Now, anyone who works in HVAC knows that Trane and Goodman are like comparing apples and oranges. Goodman is a about $1,300 less expensive than Trane and the quality is not even comparable.  So not only does 2-10 want to replace a Trane heat pump in a system that has a Trane air handler with a Goodman heat pump, their OWN WARRANTY clause states that it won't be covered because it is mis matched unless WE purchase additional coverage at additional cost.  
  We asked them to do a buy out cost so we could compare the difference to replace with Trane and 2-10 comes back with $1,348 dollars in lieu of Goodman replacement vs the over $2,600 they are paying the AC contractor for the Goodman heat pump.  Not only that, they won't cover the pump up stand for the Goodman or freon or disposal. That's an additional $ 298 out of our pocket with $100 being the stand because the Goodman won't fit our existing pump up stand. But that's "our problem" as 2-10 see's it!

   So beware, 2-10 will screw you on quality and compensation, even though their contract states: they will replace with LIKE KIND with EQUAL or BETTER quality equipment, thus voiding your contract warranty WHEN THEY replace equipment with a different brand of far less quality and mis matching your system and at the same time, VOIDING the warranty to SAVE THEM the money and screw YOU!

   Would you accept a Yugo bumper as a replacement on your Camry and pay to have it installed?  RUN FROM 2-10, they are scam artists and a total waste of money!
