2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is a scam. Our roof sprung a BRAND new leak in the first 3 weeks living in it, and it was deemed pre-existing despite not being in our own inspector's report and never having been seen by a 2-10 employee. To even begin asking questions, requesting assistance, or in the end cancelling is nearly impossible, as everyone is always "busy" or "doesn't handle that." Finally, when you are nearly at your breaking point, you are reprimanded for using a "sarcastic tone" when asking a perfectly reasonable question about the claims process. Having left yet another message, I continue to anxiously await someone who "does handle this." Meanwhile, I guess I will have to get a second job because teaching doesn't pay for this new house AND a new roof

If you are asking for a brand new roof, no wonder they are giving you the run around

These home warranty companies have all sorts of exceptions in their warranty contracts. Did you read the contract or did you only read the website?  The contract has lots of fine print taking away most of the benefits of having a warranty. Get your contract out and read it. In my experience the home warranties are not worth the expense for the consumer.

Having said that, if you just purchased this home three weeks ago and now you have a roof leak, it is time to get a roofer out there to fix it before the problem becomes huge. It is unlikely that you would need a whole new roof unless you purchased a home with a roof at the end of its useful life. Did you? A leak is a far cry from needing a whole new roof.

Once you get the roof leak fixed. Cancel the home warranty and at least get your money back.  Owning a home requires maintenance. It is best to catch the issues early while they are small. It is better for you financially. Good luck.
