My house came with a warranty from 2-10 and after reading the fine print, it seemed so useless that I tried to get the sellers to cancell it and give me the money instead.  However, that did not happen.   When my house needed to be entirely rewired, I did not make a claim.   When the roof leaked, I did not make a claim.  When the heat did not work, I did not make a claim. instead, I relied on a trusted contractor who I knew was not ripping me off. I knew that $500 for an electrical problem would not go far and reasoned that after the deductable and what would probably be an overpriced contractor that was involved in this scam, I would be further behind.  However, when the dishwasher leaked, I made a claim with 2-10.  First they sent someone from Sears who said in was the gasket around the door and that  part had to be orderd. I paid my $75 service fee.   Then they sent another repair man who replaced the gasket and left me with a door that was impossible to shut.  He walked out and slammed the door on me when I tried to explain to him that it was physically impossible for me to shut the door.    I compalined to the company.  A few days later, another technician arrived and said that the hinges and the latch on the door were broken and it was impossible to get the parts.  The dishwasher would have to be replaced.   When I spoke to a 2-10 warranty Company employee, they said that those particulars parts were not covered and that I would not get any money at all.  They also refused to refund my $75. This is the biggest scam I have ever seen.  There are thousands of complaints against them wiht the Better Business Bureau and they are still operating like thieves. You would be better off flushing money down the toilet than buying a plan wiht this compnay (even if the toilet got clogged and you had to call a plumber.)
