I called ADT because I needed to cancel my service, however I wanted to fulfill my contract obligations and pay through March 2009. I had ADT for almost two years at my previous address and moved and did a transfer of service. To my surprise, it was not a transfer of service, but a mew contract that I did not agree to. When I called ADT CS, I was told that I had signed a 3 yr. contract and had to pay 75%-$1100 for a service that I am not using. I was shocked; I have had this transfer for about 60 days and am not happy at all. 10/27 I emailed the sales agent--Jeremy to let him know what ADT Customer Service told me, however I am willing to pay out my original contract through March 2009 (fulfill my two years); The salkes agent sends me an email stating that I need to talk to the Manager SP in the Charlotte Office--who is a total WITCH.

Well let me say that before I even spoke to the Sales Agent, I spoke to an ADT CS Rep. for the 2nd time and they understood my situation and said that everything documented in the system prove that I was doing a transfer and in no way knew that I was signing a three year contract with ADT. The Rep. told me to speak to the person that sold me the system, so I emailed the Sales agent--lest call him JP. That is when JP gave me to that witch SP. Had I known I was signing a 3 yr, contract and on top of that get this kind of treatment, I would never have gone with ADT. JP is dishonest & not forthcoming because he wanted to make a sale. That is why they call him their#$1 Sales Agent. I feel violated and taken advantage of. ADT has a Money back guarantee for SIX months but do not believe that. Now I know how ADT stays in business...they charge people for a service that they do not use so that they can collect. God does not like ugly and they too will feel the wrath

6 Month Guarantee

AUTHOR: Geminideb - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 22, 2009

As an ex-salesperson for ADT, the 6 month money back guarantee is if something is wrong with the installation or the equipment itself and you give ADT the courtesy of trying to fix the problem. You just can't wake up one morning and decide you don't want it monitored anymore and want your money back. That's not what their "money back guarantee" is all about.

read contract

AUTHOR: Ex Sales Guy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 30, 2009

It is 70% of monitoring balance, they either turned on equipment in new dwelling or put in new equipment. You would have signed a new contract...they don't do word of mouth. Any other company does not offer any relocation therefore you would have paid for your two yr old equipment and a high % (60-70%) of remaining monitoring for 1-3yrs additional. That's even if you wanted them in a new location. The sales person may have "lied" to you but the contract on the 1st page shows 3 years. If he in fact did misrepresent the terms and keeps that up he'll probably be fired because a pattern will occur and no company can afford to have thieves working for them.

Same happened to us in Charlotte NC

AUTHOR: Micjam - (U.S.A.)

We are in the same area and they took us to the cleaners (2 different ways!). Then had the nerve to call us and/mail us a discount to re-start their services. Boy, they will do anything to get money out of your pocket. Sounds like a class action in action? Live in Charlotte? You might want to consider any other security company you can find.
