American Home Sheild Refused to honor services due - four year member Memphis Internet

Member for four years and when it got to the point where the A/c & Heater unit was taged as "Immediate Danger to Life" they refused to replace unit. I was unable to discuss matter with Manager at AHS, customer service was very rude and unprofessional. The Contractor came out to quote and write up proposal all was set for replacement, then services where denied last minute. The Contractor tried to discuss in detail with AHS but was unsuccessful.

I am a victim of the circumstances, purchasing a older home with original unit barely performing. I was willing to be responsible for any part of the investment, but I was not informed of my responsiblity until it the unit was beyond repair. Why wasn't I informed of maintenance issues throughout the four years of service, when the unit was being serviced at least 2 times a year. I am a single mother, first time home owner with limited funds, I was trusting AFS to inform me and assit me with my home repairs. I am replacing the unit myself with no assistance from AFS. My membership renewal is due and guess what I'm not renewing my services with them - go figure....

Estimated repair/replacement cost on Proposal written on 2-23-04 was $1710.00 for the Heater and alternate system quote for Evaporator Coil $650.00.
