This is the worst credit card company out there. Yes, credit cards are all out there, they charge you a lot of money and drain you down. But I realized that AT&T Universal Card has increased my interest rate to 31.5%. I joined them at a much lower rate and I had a couple of minor incidents (late payments) in my credit history.
Anyway, they had slowly increased my interest rate to a criminal level (of 31.5%). This is an example of corporate greed, with no ethical sense of business. I'm wondering if there are any regulators to look into these blood suckers. Please stop AT&T Universal Card (Citibank in disguise) from ripping off people so a bunch of fat guys can get even fatter.

Citi/AT&T Universal cards originate out of South Dakota....where there is NO cap on interest rates. The same thing goes for a credit card company out of Deleware, so any credit card that you have can have an unlimited interest rate.
Because you had late payments, either with ATT or with another creditor.......ANY credit card you have can raise you to the default rate under the "Universal Default Clause" in EVERY credit card contract.
It's a for profit business, so it doesn't matter who puts out the credit card....they are ALL looking for a way to make more revenue.
For some interesting information, check out the PBS website and look for the program on The History of Credit Cards.....it's very informative.
