Evans Glass cheats employees out of their commissions and fires without reason!
They are a terrible company to work for!
I applied for a sales position for Evans Glass in Oregon City, OR. Their ad promised a minimum of $60,000 to $120,000/yr. which was a lie. I was told the job would be 40-50 hours a week which was a lie and they required us to work 6 days a week and the hours were 100+ per week.
I was hired and started the training class on the next Monday. There were 12 people in our 1 week training class within 2 weeks this number had dropped down to 2 people. They have an EXTREMELY high turnover rate because they lie about the amount of money to be made, days and hours you have to work, not getting paid in a timely manner, etc.
I started the training class on June 18th. We were to be paid $250/week for the first four weeks. These checks were NOT paid in a timely manner they were held for weeks and even months.
Also, I was injured on the job. I have been on Worker's Comp since the accident. I went into work as required on three separate occasions. On the first two Robert sent me home, stating he had to get more info from the Worker's comp carrier.
On the last time, I went in he informed me that I was fired because I did not show up to work the previous day. I explained to him that he was illegally requiring me to do work items that my doctor had stated that I could not do - he had seen the signed doctor's order, and I had to get the doctor's authorization that day. He told me he didn't care and to get out.
It is my understanding that a worker must be paid within 7 days of dismissal. It has been 14 days, and I still do not have my final paychecks as required by law.
I have filed a formal complaint with the Oregon and State Wage & Hour Board as well as the Worker's Comp Board. I have also hired an attorney.
Don't work for this company or you will be sorry!

I feel sorry for the employees of Evasn Glass
AUTHOR: Happy Employee - (U.S.A.)

I feel sorry for all the employees of Evans Glass trying to earn a living and support their families. There are over 300+ employees with Evans Glass. Some of them have been there for years.
Many sales reps have been for years as well. If they were not getting paid there commissions due to them do you think they would still be working here. It is so easy for someone to put the blame on someone else for not succeeding at a company. Its sad really. Its to bad one or two bad apples are trying to ruin it for 300+ employees that depend on Evans Glass to support their families.
I read these letters posted from ex-employees and it saddens me. Evans Glass helps hundreds of customers solve there energy needs with window replacements every month. Yet you rarely see a complaint from a customer about paying to much or the windows were installed poorly. These are the real complaints you should be looking for. You will hardly ever see them because Evans glass does good work at a fair price. Evans glass takes care of there customers and there employees. For every negative comment made About Evans Glass on this website I can probably get 80 positive responses from current employees of the company. So for all the ex-employees who did not make a career at Evans Glass. I truly am sorry It did not work out for you. I wish you the best of luck at the next company you work for.
Happy employee
