I bought this timeshare in 2011 while vacationing in Riviera Maya. The resort looked beautiful and when I bought this thing I was told that the property would go up in value over time and that I could re-sell back to them at the higher price.

I was told it would be an "investment" that I could make money on later. They went through a whole bunch of "deals" on paper that they would scratch through on earlier higher prices completely so "their manager wouldn't scream at them because they were giving me such a good price". I was told that the timeshare I was buying was such a good deal because I was buying mine from some other member who didn't want theirs anymore. End of story I came back home with a timeshare that I thought I would be able to sell back to Mayan resorts.

Fast forward to today. I called them back asking that they buy back the weeks I bought along with the "discounted gold package". I was told that they will not honor what the sales people told me and that my contract was not for a re-sale as they don't do that. When I asked the person over the phone whether I was lied to about purchasing a re-sale he said that my contract was a new contract not a re-sale and that he could not say that what I was told was a lie because he was not there.

In essence I was called a liar. That what I signed was a new contract not a transfer and that because there was not transfer paperwork what I bought was a new contract. He never acknowledged I was lied to when I bought this timeshare on the basis of the transfer or the buyback from the company.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.They will not honor what they tell you and they will nicely call you a liar when you call them to get things taken care of.

I bought a timeshare with Royal Holiday and they lied to me at everything, every time I check for travel dates are not available and it's cheaper to booked flight and hotel with Expedia. The service is really bad, I asked to speak to the manager and was told that I cannot talk to her and that I cannot cancel my membership.
Its been a nightmare for me!!! I was doing a research on internet about this fraudulent resort and how to get out of this fraud, i found this information and i want to share it with you, i hope it helps someone:

Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: margaretsims90 - ()

Timeshares are not the financial investments consumers thought with it was. Timeshare resorts Such as Wyndham, Marriot, Disney, Royal Holiday or Mayan Palace are very successful at selling their timeshare products, timeshare consumers haven´t been as lucky.

With the economy as it is today, consumers owning a timeshare out of their city are struggling to pay not just maintenance fees climbing yearly up to $800 yearly, they also have to pay transportation to their timeshare destination. Timeshare scams everywhere.
