I know this is a little long, but please, please, PLEASE take the time to read this.

I hope this never happens to another bride.  House of Brides has caused me and my fiance much unnecessary stress during what should be a joyous, exciting time in our lives...

If you are a bride or in a wedding party, please do not make the mistake I did in ordering from House of Brides (HOB).  I urge you to read this and the HUNDREDS of complaints against HOB -- I wish I would have checked the internet for reviews before ordering, but unfortunately, I did not...

(Backstory)  I had been looking for a specific brand of shoes for my wedding (March 15, 2013).  I originally ordered these shoes (two different sizes) from another internet vendor and had them overnighted so they would arrive a 3 days prior to my wedding dress fitting.  I received an email from the other vendor ON THE EXPECTED RECEIVE DATE explaining that the shoes were out of stock.  I had to reschedule my dress fitting, take off another day of work, and ask for a refund from the vendor.

HOB website had the shoes in both sizes I wanted to try.  I called and spoke with a representative to confirm that the shoes were in stock and that I could return the pair that did not fit.  I explained my experience with the other vendor and told the rep how important it was that I get a confirmation that these shoes were available.  I was excited to hear that HOB had each size in stock and that I would "have no problem getting them within 3 days" if I had them "Express Shipped."

As I was adding my shoes to the cart, I thought I would call back to double check on the availability and shipping time.  I spoke with a DIFFERENT representative and she confirmed the shipping date and that they were in stock, assuring me (again) that I would have no problem.  I proceeded with the order and received an email confirmation and sales receipt.

To my horror, I received an email THREE DAYS LATER explaining the the shoes were out of stock.  I called the Customer Service line and they only response was that the shoes were out of stock.  I pitched a fit and explained the whole story - he said he would transfer me to a "manager."  When the manager finally picked up, all she said was that she was sorry and that someone wasn't doing their job.  Again, I explained how I had spoken with two DIFFERENT associates who both assured me they were available and that I found it hard to believe that two reps were not "doing their jobs."

I was told that she would have Customer Service call me to explain things... ummm, HELLO??!!  Did I not just call Customer Service??  I told her that would not be necessary, since evidently they cannot deliver the shoes as promised.  I asked her why I did not receive an the next day after the order was process and my credit card was charged -- instead of THREE days later...  She really didn't have an answer.  I asked that my credit card be refunded immediately, as I would need the funds to buy yet another two pairs of shoes.

I called Paypal to see how soon I could be refunded.  They said that if the merchant refunded the money online, then it would show up immediately as a credit to my account.

I have yet to see a refund.

As I said before, PLEASE read the reviews and DO NOT order from House of Brides.

I went through the same issues as you did. After reaching out to this company, my time was wasted, my value as a customer diminished and I was ignored and blocked by the House of Brides.

Dear Customer,

We investigated your order.

We show you placed 2 orders online for shoes on separate days. Orders take up to 24 hours to process in our system. Once processed, we submit the orders to the designer. Our designer then contacts House of Brides within 5 - 7 business days of the submission and confirms the order and provides the estimated shipping of the order to our location. We send a follow-up email to the customer with the estimated delivery.

This procedure is described in the Terms & Conditions section of our website.

At the time of your inquiry and at the time of your orders, the designer showed the shoe style available in the size and color as requested. The designer recently discontinued both styles and only had in-stock shoes available on a first-come, first-serve basis with their authorized retailers. Unfortunately, by the time the designer received your orders, the style, size and color were no longer available. The designer contacted House of Brides and our representatives informed you.

We offer refunds if the designer is unable to fulfill an order at stated on our Terms & Conditions. We also state that refunds can take up to 30 days for processing. Customers agree to these terms prior to submitting your order.

We confirmed your orders were refunded a several business days after notifying you of the orders.

We apologize for any inconvenience and invite you to contact Customer Relations, customerrelations@houseofbrides.com for further assistance.

Sincerely,
House of Brides
