Joseph, Steven & Associates ripoff dishonest fradulent collections settled then said it was a mistake after payment was sent and said they needed more money or they would sue, won't return calls, makes continuous threats over the phone Ventura California

You should contact the person or company in which Joseph, Steven & Associates collected money on behalf of and ask them if the so called collection agency has mailed them the money that they collected from you.

The reason that I suggest this is because I am a business owner who was contacted by Joseph, Steven & Assocates back in 2004. I turned over a few of my accounts to them and never heard from them again.

I had no idea that they had collected money on my behalf until I mailed another invoice to our customer recently. It was at that time that I learned through correspondence from my customer that a check was mailed directly to the collection agency almost a year ago. They, however, kept the money for themselves instead of sending it to me. To top things off, they refuse to pay me and I have had to contact an attorney for legal advice on this matter. I am currently working with my attorney on a solution for collection of my money.

I would have never found out that money was collected on my behalf if I had not been notified by my customer.

The company that hired them to collect money from you may not have received the money from them and that company may still show an outstanding balance owed by you.

Please contact that company to inform them of what has taken place so that, if they were not sent the money that was collected on their behalf, they can take action against Joseph, Steven & Associates. This company is fradulent and must be stopped!
