That's fantastic that you have set up a means whereby consumers can dispute their services after the fact.

The purpose of this forum, however, is to steer consumers away from shady companies before the fact.

Much as you might like to think it as such, RoR is, for the most part, a legitimate forum for the airing of legitimate grievances.

Now, you are exactly correct in your supposition that many of the complaints posted here are without merit. However, these complaints are usually shown for what they are, often times by people who have no interest whatsoever in the subject matter.

If you wish to defend your company, you will have to come up with more than "this site is illegitiamte and therefore we will not respond to complaints" and "we have an internal means whereby aggrieved consumers can lodge their complaints."

If the original report is false, defend against it. Otherwise, your failure to do so only bolsters the credibility of the complaintant.

I read the report with quite a bit of skepticism as to whether it actually stated a valid complaint. There are a host of reasons why you would want a retainer even if you are working on contingency, i.e. filing fees for litigation which, in most states, an attorney is not permitted to pay on behalf of the client.

But your response has changed my mind. You state that this complaint is illegitimate, but refuse to specify why, which is a big red flag. You also not only insult this site itself, but also its comtributors and readers and, perhaps worst of all, you imply that people should not have be allowed a public forum to lodge complaints against shady companies.

Were you to file an actual rebuttal, rather than insult the intelligence of myself and my fellow readers, you probably could have defended your company pretty well. But that ship has sailed, and I would advise potential consumers to give credence to the complaint, and not the detraction.
