 We originally purchase our truck from a totally different lender, but for some unknown reason our contract was purchased from Santander.  Due to unfortunate financial difficulties we requested to have a few payment deferred, which was not problem.  It was explained to us that that payment would be added to the end of the loan.  What we were not told was when the contracted ended any balance at the end of the contract is to be paid in full and if not paid in full for every month late you will be charged a $29.97 per month late fee and it will report the late payments on your credit. 

So when I pulled my credit we are showing $3,487.57- 150 days late and the phone calls are out of this world.  They have called my ageing dad. They threaten us to repose our vehicle and each month we have called them back and each time we are told there is no problem with us continuing to make payments and yet each month the calls are coming in. Each month we call each month they charge us late fees each month we are told we are x-amount of dollars late and so on and so on.
