Received an email from this company informing me that they were collecting on an automotive loan that they had given me. The following is the text of the footnote of the email :
Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1692a-1692o please be advised that this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained by Santander Consumer USA Inc. from you or any other person concerning the debt referenced above will be used for such purpose. You are further advised that the information referenced above is current as of the date of this letter, and may have changed since the date of this letter due to subsequent payment or other account activity.
I have never dealt with these people so have asked them to send me proof of this loan.

Not just internet scam! Santander Auto

I recently received a letter from a collection agency stating that I owed Santander Auto over $1500 which is funny because I never heard of Santander Auto before!!! Called the collection agency and they stated that they no longer have my account. Be aware!

Further to my previous report, I emailed the company to ask them to provide me with proof of he debt.
All I got back was an undeliverable report so I ditched the email
Looks like it may have been spam but others should watch out in case this a hoax being played on unsuspecting public and end up paying money to charlatans instead of the actual company concerned.
