I have charges on my Verizon account that I did not authorize and cannot remove after several attempts.

Short version: I received a call on 4/29 from someone identifying themselves as from Verizon. They asked me to purchase a Mayweather fight in which I declined several times. I was charged for this anyway and it came up on my next bill. I haven't been able to remove this ever since.

Long version: The phone call I received did come from a non-local number. It is 516-570-9227. Verizon Sales answers when calling it back. The lady (whose name I do not recall) asked me over and over to purchase this fight and not to miss the opportunity. I was polite and allowed her to give her speech but I insisted I wasn't interested. Her last (garbled) question before she promptly said thank you and hung up was something to the effect of asking if I was the head of the account to which I said yes. I believe this was misinterpreted and allowed the agent to place the order without my actual consent, though I did not think anything of it at the time.

I contested the charge once I saw it, and I was told it would be taken care of. I called back later when I didn't see a credit and I was told it was denied. I made several calls over and over from the last few weeks trying to rectify this and correct the situation. I have been given conflicting information from customer service, technical support, and the information I have been provided from the "offline team" I have been told it was denied because I watched it. I was able to "confirm" both that the cable box tunes itself to the preordered program and that it DOES NOT tune itself. I was able to "confirm" that the purchase was made directly from the box and that there is no way to know if it was made directly from the box. So I have no recourse without actually confirming these things with anyone. Apparently the offline team has a different system. They make the final call and there is no way for a customer to speak to them directly.

One of my calls was made to identify the number that called me, and it was determined that it isn't Verizon directly, but a 3rd party representing the company. I believe this disconnection is (conveniently) the reason for the lack and confusion of information. Verizon shows that no one called me, even though they can confirm from my phone bill that this number called me on 4/29 and the order was MADE on 4/29.

I did not watch it. I assume the box tuned itself to the order (which is what they see and therefore deny my refund) because some 3rd party Verizon representative company ordered it without my authorization. I did not order this program, nor did my wife who is the only other person in the apartment. Verizon refuses to do anything about it and I am done with them at this point. Hopefully this will help someone else in some manner.
