Verizon a non-caring, non-American or is it.

 Have we as Americas put money in front of friends, family and even God?

Well Verizon has done so.

 After being ripped off by Tracfone for 129.00 for a cell phone that lasted only one hour they flat out refused to refund my money. So I went to Verizon on Dec. 27^th 2013 I told them I live 35 miles from the closes town and have medical conditions that made me feel I needed a cell phone for emergences. The lady showed me a cell that was 100.00 out the door with a 50.00 rebate and a 2 week free trial. I thought I can do that on my government monthly check it turns out the cell was a defect I had to charge it twice a day. So I took it back on Jan. 3^rd 2014 they didn’t believe me at first in till I showed them it said 18 hours of charge when in fact the battery was dead.

 I looked at another phone the tag said same deal 100.00 out the door and 50.00 rebate but while I was looking at it she said Oh that’s the wrong price it’s 150.00, I said you can’t do that it’s called “Bate & Switch” So I got it for the original 100.00 out the door. They also told me I can have my home phone number put on this new phone and that was the main selling point for me because trying to contact medical people and friends for the past 20 some years can get very confusing and just turns into a big mess. So I took that one thinking I had another 2 week free trial. She said I’ll do the paper work for you so you don’t have to I thought cool good deal because I quit school at age 15. I can’t read books or contracts and understand what it’s saying without reading it 3 to 4 times.

Well I’m not going to stand in the store with customers trying to read a 6 page contract it’s very embarrassing and can’t understand what some words even mean.

Well after paying I thought for the first time she told me you can’t have your home phone number on this phone. My understanding of contract law is that even if a contract was signed and they added something verbally and renege on that then the contract is void!

 Well on or about Jan. 13th, 2014 that phone stopped working and the screen lit up in big letters “Pay Your Bill 166.00” well I had no idea why I am being charged 166.00 they never told me that was going to happen so I took it back and said “I’m done with cells phones forever I want nothing more to do with them.

 So now I get a bill for 520.00 I said I’m not going to pay that so they say you owe us from Dec. 27^th 2013 to Jan. 28^th 2014 I’m thinking so where is the free part of this deal. So I looked up my credit card info and they charged me for that first phone same day I went in there looking Dec.26^th and just added that time to the other phone again where’s the free part?

 And to top it all off my brother had a stroke months earlier and in Dec. 2013 he some how found access to the fire escape and fell. So I was told he may not live much longer and passed Jan. 19^th 2014 so this is on my mind. Then on 14^th of Feb. 2014 my mother passed away and these people called some times twice a day with harassing phone calls wanting payment and there is no will I get nothing. I told them what had happen and that I couldn’t even go to their funeral because I had no money and suffer from very major headaches and taking pills that doctor ordered to help relieve the pain and in pain 24/7 for about 2 years now. In 2007 the doctors told me I might have 10 years left to live but they didn’t care about any of this they just wanted their money. This went on for over 3 months till I made a payment to get them off my back so I could think. They also said if you make a payment we will take off 50.00 well another lie they did not. They also ask for my email address obvious just to harass me even more that should be illegal. I contacted the Wyoming attorney general he basically told me my state of mind at the time of signing the contract I thought for the first time meant nothing! I think he should be replaced because the law states (For the purposes of contract law, mentally impaired includes mental retardation, senility, insanity, delirium resulting from physical injuries, intoxication, and side of effects resulting from medication.

It’s amazing how greedy people are now days.

There are over 2,900 people filing complaints about Verizon ripping them off 2,900 can’t be all wrong.
