I have to agree with the lady who worked Walmart I.T. I spent two years in Walmart purgatory along with several friends.

Know this, from the minute that you are hired at Walmart they begin setting you up and building a case to fire you. For example: If you run across a family problem or something that requires you to miss work the managers will tell you everything is O.K. and there will be no consequence, but there always is. Another setup they use is the lawn and garden merchandise they stock in the parking lot. You see, if a customer takes a bag potting in the store and leaves it some employee is required to take it back out to the parking lot. If it is an employee that is on the short list they are fired for shop-lifting. You see, in order to get the merchandise back out to its spot the employee has to take it, "past the point of sale". That constitutes shop-lifting. I have seen it many times. I have also seen employees fired from the snack bar for putting too much popcorn in the "free" bags of popcorn given to children and labelled thieves.

Forget about your family too. Especially if you work 2nd shift in 24hr store. You see, if you work 2nd shift you have to stay until the entire store is zoned (which all merchandise in proper shelf and aligned). I once heard an "associate" told that her babysitting situation was none of Walmart's concern when the employee expressed that she was supposed to pick up her daughter at the babysitter's at 11:00 (the associate asked to go home at 1:00am).

The Walmart I worked for hired a mentally retarded boy to stock the candy isle and paraded him around for years for publicity. About two years ago he was fired and thrown out by the manager because he did not know how to mop a floor.

Never work or let anyone you love work for Walmart!

#3 UPDATE Employee

I agree no one shold work at wal-mart

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 14, 2004

wal-mart has done too many bad things to list in the three years I have worked for them as a dept. manager. I left my job with them last week due to excessive cuts in payrole that I was told where due to lack of sales.how can a company like wal-mart not have the money to support its workers in times of slow busness. Wal-mart could save a lot of money by paying it employees better so that the employees don't have to steal from them to make ends meat.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Walmart employees are slaves

AUTHOR: Martin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 06, 2004

I worked for walmart for 83 days. I was early every day and stayed late whenever they needed me to. I lost 30 pounds in that time running around in the back room unloading trucks. I watched and reported to my superviser all the goings on in the stock room like he wanted as he was going to be letting the people that were not making the grade go. I told him about the blatent racism the standing around talking on cell phones all the time the 20 min breaks and other people disappearing in the restrooms 3 and 4 times a day not including there breaks. He began to put me in charge of the crew and made me responsible for the goings on of the truck crew. Just 7 days before I was to make my 90 days and become a true employee i was let go for not being able to do my job in a timly manner. The company policy is to be able to unload a 1000 piece truck in an hour i was unloading 1500 piece trucks in 55min. I was told that i am rehirable and that if i had hired in at a differnt position i would most likly be still around for my 90 days. I could not belive i had worked that hard and pushed myself to be the best employee they wanted and then bam good bye you are to slow. side note the employees that stand around and talk on there cell phones instead of working, the racists are still there but getting overtime because they had to let me go.

IT IS NOT PAST THE POINT OF SALE

AUTHOR: LUANN - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 27, 2004

IF YOU LOOK AT THE STORY FROM "HUSBAND ARRESTED ANYWAY, WITH RECEIPT". YOU WILL SEE THAT THAT IS
NOT PAST THE POINT OF SALE. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE SELLING THINGS OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS. AT LEAST IN CALIFORNIA.
