I was hired by walmart to be a home gift wrapper. I signed a contact stating that I would receive $30.00 for each gift I wrapped and the gifts were very expensive items such as digital camera, ipods, laptop computers(check to be issued after 10 pacakges) for a total of $300.00 plus any gas usage was to be reinburst. T
The total amount that is due me is $386.00. After I completed my 10 gifts I was expecting my payment. The first lie was that my payment was being process on July 7, 2008 and it was going to take 1-2 weeks for delivery. I found this strange but I wanted the required amount of time and no payment.
Contacted my supervisor (Daniel Norris) July 20, 2008 inquiring about my payment and he tells me that it is on its way. Another few days go by and no mail. Contact Daniel Norris dnorris767@gmail.com and he tell me that my payment was re-routed on July 24, 2008. As you can image I was upset because now I realize I have been ripped.
On July 31, 2008 I received a email from Daniel Norris inquiring about paypal I sent him the information and he lied again telling me that I would receive my payment in 2-3 days with would be August 6, 2008 . And guess what no paypal has been received. Now I don't get any respond from my email.
I know that I will not recieved my money I just want to inform all of you guys out there that if you receive a email from Walmart asking if you want to be a gift wrapper RUN!!!.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds
No gift service

After many years of service, I've never heard of gift-wrapping services, but by now I'm sure you realize that. One comment I wanted to make on email. An assistant manager wont have a "public" walmart.com email address, it's internal, meaning he can send messages to other managers in the store and up to the district and/or corporate level using walmart's proprietary system. As a matter of fact, nobody at the store level would have an email address to send to someone outside, there isn't even internet access. That would only come from the district and corporate level. Like previously mentioned, that isn't cost effective at all, and I know they aren't gonna waste money like that (TRUST ME, I know)
where were you "interviewed"? I'm really curious about that. If you never went to the store and took 100's of CBL's on walmart life, you aren't a walmart employee even a little bit.

#4 Consumer Suggestion
One thing to consider.

You might want to call you local police on this. It is entirely possible that the gifts you sent were stolen merch.
Think about this:
You recieved these packages how?
Did you mail these packages out yourself, from your address. did your name appear on any of the shipping invoices?
Are you sure digital cameras and laptops wre the only things in those boxes? It could've been drugs or god knows what else.
Having wrapped them, your fingerprints are all over them. And they probably the only prints on them.
You may have been involved in more than a scam is all i'm saying.
call the cops and tell them your story.
Good Luck.

#3 Consumer Suggestion
You have been scammed.

Walmart does not have such a service and you would never receive an email let alone from a FREE Gmail account. How exactly did you get hired for this "job"? This has nothing to do with Walmart...the above posters are correct. You have been scammed.

I agree

You're being scammed, but not by WalMart.

First off, I didn't know Walmart had such a service. (There are over 12 Walmarts in a 25 mile radius to me and i have never seen such a thing.)
Second, doesn't walmart have it's own employee website? Why would a walmart MGR use Gmail?
At 30 bucks a pop for this service, not including shipping, how does Wallyworld make any profit at all on any of it?
If it has to be shipped from their warehouse, to your house and from your house to the buyers house, that cannot be cheap at all.
Sorry to say, but i think you got scammed somehow...
