I recently viewed Walmart's website for a baby playpen. It was available to have it sent to the store for free to be picked up or they had them for sale at the store for $99.88. When I bought one at the store it was $109.00.

I spoke with 3 different managers who all said the same thing, that they do not match their own online prices. They will match competiter's prices but not our store because the nearest Target (also selling for $99.99) is 30 miles away and is another town. There are no other options in our county for baby products so they really have the market cornered with us.

My option was to return the used playpen, purchse a new one online, and have it sent to the store for free, using their site to store option, to pick up inorder to get the $10 difference. Seems like an awful lot of work.

Next time if I absolutely have to buy something from Walmart because I can't get it from somewhere else I will view it on line and purchase there and have it sent to the store.

Problem solved

So buy it online at the lower price and pick it up at the store! Big Whoop! Obviously the Walmart website gives you several options to choose from. Just because what you want is NOT one of the options does not mean that this is a rip off!

"View it on line and purchase there and have it sent to the store". What a great idea. And when you have problems with it, can you take it back to the store or do you have to ship it back yourself? Nobody or very few "pricematch" their own websites cause they have to; pay to stock the items, pay taxes on the items, pay shipping to the stores, pay the store's expenses and pay the employees and everything else involved. When people call me at my shop and ask me if I "pricematch" I tell them "Hell No and don't call me when you have a problem with it". Which they always do. One moron demanded his money back FROM ME, on a watch he bought in AZ because I'm an authorized dealer of that watch company and it stopped working. He said he wanted his money back and I said what money? You didn't pay me a penny. If you want your money back, drive to AZ and talk to them.
