On April 15, 2025, I purchased a high-end laptop — the MSI Titan HX 18 AI 016US — from Amazon.com for $6,263.30 after tax, during a rare limited-time sale. The laptop was urgently needed for multiple humanitarian projects I’m directly involved in.

Shortly after the purchase, Amazon falsely flagged my account for “unauthorized activity” — even though nothing suspicious had occurred. Without verifying anything or contacting me first, they forced a password reset and canceled all my pending orders, including this critical item.

From that moment, Amazon’s customer service began a long chain of deception and broken promises:

  • First, a rep promised the order would be restored within an hour — it wasn’t.

  • Then I was told I’d receive the same item at the same price with an additional 10% discount — that never happened.

  • Later, I was offered 20% off, but only if I reordered the item — which they linked me to at $7,599 before tax, nearly $1,336 more than what I originally paid.

  • Even worse, the 20% was only to be credited after delivery — and I was expected to blindly trust Amazon again after they’d already broken multiple commitments.

On top of all that, the warranty I purchased with the original order was not canceled, meaning I’m still being charged for a product Amazon removed from my account. I’ve spent hours with various support agents, only to be repeatedly lied to, stalled, redirected, and ignored.

This isn’t just poor service — it’s deceptive and negligent. Amazon made a mistake, promised to fix it, and then tried to push the financial burden onto me.

All I want is what was originally promised: the laptop at the price I paid, with the agreed discount. Instead, I’ve been misled, financially stressed, and pushed into a position where I either accept an overpriced replacement or walk away with nothing.

I've filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, and my State Attorney General, and I'm now making this public to warn others: Amazon will not always stand by its word — even with documented proof.

What Do You Expect From The BBB With Their PHONEY BALONEY?

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2025

First....the FACTS.... The BBB is absolutely , positively not....NOT.. part of ANY governmental, judicial or law enforcement body. As such, the BBB with all their horse manure, has ZERO POWER....I SAID ZERO POWER to force or order any business to do anything nor enforce ANY laws. The BBB calls themselves a "bureau" in order to DECEIVE the public into thinking they are something they are most definitely NOT! The ONLY purpose of the BBB is to SELL their FAKE RATINGS and their FAKE ACCREDITATIONS to ANY business willing to pay the price. Many slime ball car dealers who add thousands to the cost of a car with FAKE FEES have purchased their FAKE "A+" "RATINGS" from the BBB. This TELLS THE WORLD the BBB with all their PHONY BALONEY fully goes along and approves of the FAKE FEE CONGAME and "DEALER INSTALLED OPTIONS" scam the Sleazy Car Business has been running for years. The BBB is nothing more than a PAY FOR PLAY CON-GAME on a grand scale. Any complaints you submit to the BBB with all their BS will become a SALES LEAD to sell this business their FAKE "A+" RATING. File complaints with LEGITIMATE governmental agencies and FORGET the BBB. They are NOT your friend. THE BBB...CHOKING ON THE STENCH OF THEIR OWN CON-GAMES.
