Complaint Details: I am filing a complaint against Amazon for deceptive and fraudulent business practices regarding an online purchase. Amazon repeatedly failed to deliver an item I purchased on sale, provided misleading tracking updates, and ultimately canceled the order instead of honoring the sale price. Background & First Delivery Issue: I purchased two units of a product on sale for $800 each (original price $2,200 each). The first package was initially returned to Amazon after they attempted delivery outside my specified delivery window (Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). Instead, they attempted delivery on a Saturday at 6:00 p.m., violating my instructions. After calling Amazon, they agreed to send a replacement, which I eventually received on January 14th, 2025. Second Package – Repeated Delays & Fraudulent Cancellation: Friday, January 24th – Scheduled delivery date. The following days – Amazon repeatedly delayed delivery. Monday, January 27th, around 3:00 p.m. – Tracking showed the package was three stops away. 5:00 p.m. – Tracking suddenly updated to say delayed due to weather, despite there being no actual weather issue. Called Amazon – Assured me it would arrive Tuesday, January 28th. Tuesday, January 28th – No delivery. Amazon assured me it would arrive Wednesday, January 29th. Wednesday, January 29th – No delivery again. Amazon promised it would arrive no later than Friday, January 31st. Saturday, February 1st – Still no delivery. First call: I was told they would have to issue a refund, which I refused. Second call: I was assured it would still be delivered, and if not, it could be fixed by February 7th. Monday, February 3rd (earlier than expected) – Amazon unilaterally canceled the order, claiming the package was "undeliverable”. 9:00 p.m., February 3rd – Called Amazon again and was told they could do nothing but issue a refund, and that I would still have to wait until February 7th for them to process it. Throughout these interactions, Amazon recorded the phone calls, so I also exercised my right to record them. Why This Appears to Be Fraudulent: 1. Deceptive Practices – The package was marked as "three stops away”, then suddenly delayed due to fake weather conditions. The first package was returned for no valid reason before eventually being replaced. 2. Failure to Deliver After Repeated Assurances – Amazon repeatedly promised delivery, then kept pushing the date back until they canceled. 3. Bait-and-Switch Tactics – This was a heavily discounted item, and Amazon refused to send a replacement, forcing a refund instead. This suggests a deliberate attempt to avoid honoring the sale price. 4. Failure to Follow FTC’s Merchandise Delivery Rule – Amazon did not provide an accurate delivery timeframe or obtain my consent for the delay. Requested Action: I request that Amazon be investigated for potential fraudulent and deceptive business practices related to fulfilling orders on sale items. I want Amazon to honor the sale price and deliver the item I rightfully purchased. If they claim the item is unavailable, they should offer an equivalent replacement at the same discounted price. This situation is not an isolated incident, and I believe Amazon may be engaging in a broader pattern of canceling discounted orders under false pretenses to avoid honoring sales. I appreciate your time in reviewing this complaint and am happy to provide additional evidence, including recorded phone calls if necessary.

They exist and have been used by Amazon since I set them. With this one exception.

First, Amazon does not have delivery windows that you can specify. If you didn't give them an address they can deliver to, then it's kind of on you. And you are not entitled to anything other than a refund of money paid. Packages do get lost for a variety of reasons. For example, drivers get robbed on a regular basis. And if they really didn't want to sell the item at a discount, why would they offer one? They are not making any money by not selling you stuff.
