American Home Shield ripoff, dishonest, fradulent warranty As is typical with these types of warranties they are just ridiculous and a waste of time and money! Carroll Iowa

We purchased a house at the end of last year, and our sellers bought us an AHS (American Home Shield) warranty. About a week ago, we noticed that our fridge wasn't working, so we called to get it fixed.

They sent someone who replaced the relay in the back of the fridge with a new switch. This worked for about a week, then this morning I noticed the fridge was again broken so I called them back.

They sent the same guy back, who got there and told me it was the compressor that was bad and he would have to get someone else to look at it since he doesn't deal with sealed systems. I'm not quite sure why AHS would send someone who can't fix the problem. So they send another guy, this guy comes and does the exact same thing the first guy does, and tells me yes, it's the compressor that is broken and it is going to cost 800-900 dollars to get it fixed, but he would have to look at his price list to be sure.

So then after waiting for like 3 hours, I call AHS to see what they are gonna do. Now, AHS is supposed to replace broken appliances if it's too expensive to fix it. They tell me they are seeking a 2nd opinion and we should know by Tuesday when they will send someone. It was Friday morning when I first called them, so you can imagine how annoyed I am.

On top of that, I was just gonna go buy a new fridge and then have them fix the old one and donate it or keep it as a spare, but they told me the broken fridge has to be in the kitchen otherwise they won't work on it. So I have to keep a broken fridge in the kitchen until they can come and tell me the compressor is broken again.

As is typical with these types of warranties they are just ridiculous and a waste of time and money!!
