If anyone is thinking about using America Home Shield DON'T!

I had and still have a legitimate claim where the duct work for my a/c and heating unit (my home was built in 1983) needed replaced. AHC REFUSES to fix it.

Even though AHC's policy states that duct work is covered, and the repairman called them numerous times to try to explain and re-explain to AHC what was wrong, AHC said NO.

After spending almost an hour on the phone with AHC trying to get them to understand that "THE DUCT WORK NEEDS REPLACED NOT MY INSULATION!" I asked the lady I was speaking with to please allow me to speak to her Supervisor, she stated that she was the Supervisor. I was persistant in asking for someone higher up and was finally transfered to someone else who stated he was her Supervisor. (I thought she said she was the Supervisor???) Now I feel like I am being lied to. My first thought is .... is this guy really her supervisor or is he just another individual told to deny as many claims as the first lady I spoke to?

After both I, and the repairman (we did a three-way call), explained to this "Supervisor" that the problem was with the duct work NOT with the insulation and with that I pointed out that according to their policy duct work is covered, THEY STILL REFUSED TO FIX IT. They did not want to listen to what was being stated as the problem.

It became so obvious to me that no matter what I or any repairman said was wrong, AHC was going to find any excuse possible to deny a claim and probably was never going to honor their policy as written.


I am totally irritated in the fact that AHC will take my $500 for policy coverage, but will refused to fix what I was told was a $400 problem. $100 less then what I paid them. So they would have still made money off me even if they honored my claim.


I wish I would have know about Ripoff Report before I took out this bogus policy, but.......

BUYERS BEWARE!!! AMERICAN HOME SHIELD will try everything from acting dumb and by pretending to not understand what you are saying to pretending to be Supervisors to try and intimidate you to back down....

AHS... I am not done with you yet!!!

I own a business and if they don't think I will not pass on to my 300+ clients not to use them they have another thing coming...
