Dont believe a single word they say, read their contract, UNDETECTABLE AND PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS ARE NOT COVERED AND WILL BE DENIED......signed up with them on sept 13th, they made my contract effective Nov. 1st. Paid over 40.00 for the first month, on Nov. 5th, my hot water heater stopped working, called AHS, they sent a plumber, paid him 75.00 as per the contract..he was there for 10 minutes, he claimed there is is nothing he can do and that the heater had to be replaced. Next day AHS calls me and tells me that the claim is denied because this heater had a pre-existing condition and did not pass a simple mechanical test ( what ever that means)....how can they say that when the plumber did not open the heater, or attempt to even determine what caused the heater to leak. Spoke to the Dispute resolution dept...they were of no help, asked to speak to a supervisor, they said i had to wait for 48 hours for him to call me....I am out of 75.00. If I had a pre-existing condition, then why would any one sign up on Sept 13th when AHS said that the contract will be effective on Nov. 1st. Would I go without hot water for 1.5 months? Bottom line, if you have a minor problem, they will fix it ( you still have to pay a service call)..if you have a major problem...you are SOL..because it will be denied. BERNIE MADOFF IS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
