Americatel ripoff and stealing Identities ripoff thieves Texas

How difficult could it be to track us if our website is AMERICATEL.COM and you find our toll free number all over the website with very big numbers?

Anyway, when Americatel validates a phone number to see if its billable, we only validate the number, there is no way to validate anything else. When you moved to this new place, the LEC or CLEC asigned you the phone number which might have been someone elses number before. If that person didn't pay the bill it goes to the collection process. Then you got the number, we tried to bill the phone number, but have no idea that there is a new owner. Americatel has no source to update your information, only the LECs have that, in this case SBC.

By law, we tell you that we have been trying to collect the late bill and also that we recently validate the number and that now it seems to belong to a CLEC which we cannot bill, so if you want to settle this bill it could only be throug credit card, check or money order..
Also, by law, we can report this issue to the credit buroes, but we only only do it as a last resource, is not extorsion...You can try to sue, but you could easily solve this issue calling us directly.
