When Century Link discovers that your payment is passed due, and the payment has arrived at their billing dept. from your bank that very day, they will cut off their ISP. Then they will tell you that you must pay the payment directly to them to restore their service. They also tell you that a 5 business day hold will be placed on your account until the payment clears their bank before they will restart your account's ISP. Ridiculous!!

Century Link will tell you that the ISP will be automatically restored when the payment clears their bank. However, you will need to call Century Link back to get them to turn on the ISP. Of course, waiting on hold for up to an hour is normal.

Furthermore, they will charge $25 to flip a switch or type a key on a computer keyboard to restore their ISP!!

When my contract is final, I will cancel their service!! If I had money to sue them, I would, also!!

2nd time my ISP connection was cut within a week of past due date

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, December 14, 2016

I am angry because my ISP connection was cut within a week of the past due date for the 2nd time within 2 years. Each time, the funds arrived at Century Link on the same day, according to my bank. Of course, billing cannot confirm this, or so the billing dept says. I have told Century before several times that my payments may be late, since I am a struggling student. I am a student working part-time (as a substitute teacher.) I would rather be able to pay all bills on time, but, sometimes I don't have the money to, unless I pay from a credit card, which I would rather not do, since some credit cards are nearly maxed out.    Jay,  Albuquerque, New Mexico

You are past due on your account and want to sue them?

I really hope that you are not serious, but on the off chance you are it shows the epitome of sadness of the "Entitlement" Attitude.

The fact is that they don't need to "discover" you are past due, they have systems that keep track of this.  It is also a fact  that they also won't cut off your service for being only a day or two late.  You were probably close to (if not over) 30 days late before they cut you off.

If it wasn't a total waste of money, I would almost offer to front the money to allow you to sue them, it would be worth the entertainment value to see the expression on your face when instead of going in thinking you are "all that" to be shot down by the judge and given a 30 minute lecture of responsibility before they toss your case out for being without merrit.

Let's look at the FACTS as you, yourself have provided them. YOU are paying late; YOU are having money problems and YOU are here whining about it. Well guess what? If you are having so many money problems, perhaps you shouldn't be spending it on Internet service! Secondly, if you don't like dealing with the aftermath of paying late, maybe you should pay on time! The other FACT is you aren't ENTITLED to service you haven't paid for.
