The following is my story and it's also a letter I wrote to the company CenturyLink and to the CEO I sent it to as many people as I could. 

 

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

 
     I am or Was a NEW Centurylink/Prism TV customer. I was under a 30 day trial period through your company which ends
on Feb 2. I'm here writing you to give you feedback as to why I will not be a customer of Centurylink. Which is a shame because I kind of like the TV
and Internet. Everything about it is pretty d*** good I must say. Now I will tell you about my experience so far so you will understand why I won't
be a customer of CenturyLink.
 
     It all started back on 12/15/2014,when a local door to door Centurylink salesman came to my door to tell me of all the wonderful things about centuryLink and their
Prism TV. His name is Will, agent id #8001327. Now Will was a really cool guy he took this longtime Brighthouse customer (since mid 1990's) and sold me on the idea of just
trying out a bundle you were promoting. I said yes which including a bunch of stuff so I said OK let's do it. Now let's fast forward to the day the gentlemen comes to install
everything. I get a call at work that morning with my son on the line saying that the installation guy needs to talk to me. He get's on the line "I see you have HD TV's That is going
to cost more if you want HD TV". So I was confused because I thought I was already getting HD. I just told the guy, nevermind I don't want anything and he can just go. So he did,
Left without doing a thing. So I didn't get anything at this point and he left. So I am keeping my Brighthouse.... cool whatever. Now Will was an amazing salesman and very personable I liked that guy.
   Now let's fast forward a couple weeks and I check my mail and to my surprise I have something from CenturyLink, IT'S A BILL for 57 dollars, I was like... Huh?
So I called the billing number on the bill and I was like Hey dude...Why do I have a bill, I don't have any service from you guys. So I got transferred to someone else who said they can get rid of that bill No Problem (you better). And then he went into offering me an amazing deal. Home phone, Internet, and your Prism Preferred package and I can actually switch one of the premium channels with another, No problem. All for $141.00 a month EVERY Month! HD is being waved and Blah blah blah. A 300 dollar gift card, I was not going to have any prorated charges, It was going to get installed on around the middle of the month so my 30 days would kick in then and I would get my first bill until the end of February and NO PRORATED CHARGES. OF course I never took this guys name down, never had anything sent to me in writing, I literally took him at his word. Lesson learned. And I can NOT back any of this up. It's crazy to think this could have happened to me to begin with. I made it clear I wasn't going to be charged for this 30 day period at all.  So I was like let's do it let's go ahead and DO it! I want this, I will be getting a better deal than Brighthouse and it all sounded amazing.... Until today when I got a bill for $426.77. (not even the 30days, not close to what I agreed to and I shouldn't get a bill until next month! WTH?
   I had some sort of bait a switch happen to me that is not even close to the deal I agreed to. There's Prorated charges, I never agreed to that, The price of the bundle is wrong, I never agreed to that. (why would i pay more than my Brighthouse bill) It hasn't even been 30 days since it was installed. I think they are counting the day that the very first installation guy came to my house and I turned him around. I got this bill and I fell OUT of my chair. I could NOT believe what just happened to me from what is supposed to be a respectable company. AMAZING! I called your customer service department and even talked to a manager, He was totally useless and I couldn't believe what happening to me. I feel sick from this whole ordeal. The fact that this "Manager" was basically calling me a liar, at this stage. 
   So in the end I have to cancel my service with centuryLink and the unethical way that your company does business. I will have to do this by Monday! and then get brighthouse back here to hook up everything. I can NOT have my elderly mother at the house too long without a home phone. I can't believe I never even got my 30 days. I work at a company that is VERY customer service driving and we get those GD power awards for it. You have to be customer service driven in business. I can not believe I fell for this type of business practice. You can't actually train these people to do this could you? I am amazed at my whole ordeal with your company it is truly the worst experience I ever had trying to deal with a company.
I am going back to Brighthouse and I learned quite a bit about your company and a valuable lesson. I never had a problem with Brighthouse they were good to me. I won't ever recommend your company, I will close my door quickly the next time I see someone selling Centurylink, Except Will, I'll at least shake his hand first.
