17 years ago, I moved into a new home in Henderson & got Cox internet service. In those days Cox was using coax cable with less shielding than they do today. Thus, summer heat repeatedly damaged the cable running from sidewalk to my home and disrupted service so after a few years of this, I switched to CenturyLink for internet.

Since then, CenturySTINK more than doubled my internet & phone rates. On 12/5/2015 they promised to reduce my cost by 25%. Instead and despite 7 additional calls, chats & emails, the "geniuses" added (raised it) $35 a month to my account with ZERO explanation.

Instead of the promised $59.17 total for next 12 months, my 12/2016 billings total $114.12 with NO explanation from ANYONE (including Donna Powell at CenturyLink whom I believe is a aide to CEO Glen Post) for the added $35 charge!

On 1/8/2017 Brandon from TSI (Cox contractor) arrived at my home at the scheduled time to connect Cox 10mbps $39.99/month service to my ARRIS SBG6700-AC modem/router. Aside from Brandon getting the install done in record time while entertaining my dog, we did a speedtest and I'm getting 16.38 MBPS of download speed and 2.24mbps upload !!!

Phone service. Good-bye over-priced CenturyLink landline and hello FREE Google Voice number. Just add a little $48 Obihai OBi200 VoIP Telephone Adapter and you can connect it to your existing corded or cordless home phones. Google Voice gives you dozens of extra phone & voicemail features for FREE that would cost you at least $100 a year with Ooma, Vonage and the like.

BOTTOM LINE: Despite all the new gadgets I saw this past week at the 2017 CES Show in Vegas, I believe I now have the best hard wire fast internet & FREE phone services for only $40 a month from Cox and Google.

Tell YOUR neighbors & friends! Just found out that one of mine has been paying CenturyLink OVER $100 a month for basic internet & phone service.
