 This is not worth the poor service or frustration. I signed up for Century link internet in September of 2016, so I've had it for almost 6 months now. I only have the "7mb" package, so it's a reasonable $24/mo. Unfortunately that's the only thing that is remotely OK with this service. Naturally you have to pay extra to payby creditor debit card, so no protection under the Fair Credit Billing Act unless you pay extra. When I signed up, the promotion was a $25 visa gift card. That was supposedly sent out in November, but I have yet to receive it. I doubt I ever will with the run around I've gotten trying to track it down. This brings us to the next issue. It is very difficult to reach Centurylink for service and billing support. I've called support twice and was disconnected both times. Needless to say I've stopped trying to call them. They do have a support chat that works, but this isn't helpful when your internet is down. Also, when wanting something additional like credit for outages and gift card issues, you always have to get transferred to a different chat or call a separate number. Sometimes the chat won't initiate "due to high volume" and you are told to "try again later" and we know the phone experience isntfun. No one Luke's to make it through the automated phone options and messages just to be disconnected repeatedly. Beyond customer service, the service is terrible. I understand that 7mb internet service is not always going to be 7mb download. It can be an adequate 3.5mb download and .9mb upload when it is working. Unfortunately those times are rare. It is not uncommon for the internet to be completely unusable for 3 days or more straight. Usually the router reports something like 0.03mb download and 0.01mb upload, but my web browser is showing no internet connection. It is a rare occasion that I can watch Netflix and not have it buffer video every 30 seconds. Needless to say I'll be switching soon. I think Centurylink's business model of providing crappy service and providing such frustrating support that people just give up is dispicable. I hope this report has saved someone the aggravation.
