My husband and I have become the victim of fraud on our checking account. Chase, not only won't return our money, they are demanding payment of $400 in overdrawn funds. I apologize for the length of this report but felt the length is necessary to adequately explain our situation.

We opened an account with Washington Mutual over a year ago with $110. We then received $100 "bonus" for opening the account. Since that time there has been $210 in the account and we have NEVER used this account. The ATM cards sit in our desk drawer. As most everyone knows, Washington Mutual was bought by Chase. If my husband and I are guilty of anything, it's that we don't closely monitor this account because we never use it. We've been meaning to close it but just hadn't gotten around to it.

We then moved residences on May 1st. Through all of the chaos with moving and getting our mail forwarded several weeks went by before we opened any of our mail. All of our important bills are on automatic payment. On May 25th we opened our mail to find a letter stating that a hold had been placed on a recent deposit in the amount of $1500.56 on April 27th. This sent the alarm bells off immediately since we have never used this account. We then found our bank statement and found that there had been multiple deposits and withdrawals. Our initial thought was that our account had gotten crossed with someone else because of the deposits. We also located our ATM cards right away so I felt safe that our cards were in our hands.

My husband immediately called Chase to find out what was going on. The rep on the phone was completely rude and actually told us, "How do I know you didn't do this? He could not help us and told us to go into our local branch.

My husband went to the local branch the next day. It took two people to finally figure out what was going on, but it did in fact appear that someone was fraudulently using our account. Chase had switched from Mastercard to Visa and had mailed new cards on April 20th --- WE NEVER RECEIVED THESE CARDS. Now, we have a locked mailbox --- how someone got a hold of our cards and pin numbers I will never know. There was an initial withdrawal of $200, multiple balance inquiries (a tell-tale sign of fraud), multiple deposits, and withdrawals. We were able to obtain copies of all of the deposits --- all of the checks were clearly stolen and our signatures were forged for endorsement.

My husband filled out all of the paperwork to file a claim and was told that I would need to return to the bank to sign the paperwork as both of our cards were used. I went into the bank of June 5th and completed the remaining paperwork. At this time we also asked to see the ATM videos --- she told us that it was not us on the video (duh, I could have told her that) but they were not allowed to show us the videos unless we have filed a police report. We were assured that we had done everything we needed to do and that our money would be returned to us.

Later that we week we began to receive multiple letters from Chase. They had approved some of the claims but not all of them (each transaction required a separate claim). We received three cashiers checks, in the amounts of $14, $36, and $6. We then called the person at the local branch for an explanation. She contacted the fraud department for us. When she got back to us she explained that she couldn't get an exact answer as to why our claims were denied but she thought that the fraud department believed we had given our cards/pins to someone else. So here we are again, back to square one, still with no money! She then told us that there was nothing more that she could do and that we would need to contact the fraud department directly.

We then contacted the fraud department and asked to speak to a supervisor. We explained the entire situation to the supervisor and after a lot of pressure he finally agreed to review the case again. Of course our claims were denied again! His attitude was nothing but appalling. He treated us like criminals! I nicely explained that we at least deserved an explanation as to why the claims were denied --- particularly because they had approved 3 of the transactions but none of the others. Clearly, if Chase believes our account was fraudulently used for three transactions they must believe all of the transactions were fraud. He then told me that I was wrong, and that Chase had denied all of the claims. I have the letter right in front of me and read it to him - "Our research indicates that the transaction was processed incorrectly or was not authorized" and I have a cashiers check in my hand! He still insisted that I was wrong and that Chase had denied all claims and they would want that money back. Are you serious? Have I gone absolutely insane?!?

The only answer he would give me as to the reason for denial was that research revealed that the transactions were processed correctly and that it was within Chase's policies and procedures. I asked for a copy of the policies and procedures. I was told that Chase does not share its policies and procedures with customers. Again, are you serious? What kind of company doesn't share its policies and procedures with customers? I was told that if I wanted to see a copy of the investigation I would have to subpoena the documents.

So here we are, six weeks later, and we can't get our money back. So at this point I'm ready to give up. We really only lost $210 and it's probably not worth my time to fight it anymore. BUT then, just when I thought this situation couldn't get any worse, the saga continues. The collections department is now calling me and my husband daily and they want the $400 in overdrawn funds on the account. If we do not pay, we will be reported to the ChexSystems --- this will impact our credit rating and our ability to establish an account with other financial institutions. This is absolutely ludicrous. We have done nothing wrong. I am NOT going to let this go and feel it is my duty to fight this unfair practice for myself and fellow consumers. I have filed complaints against Chase with FDIC, the Attorney Generals office, the California Department of Financial Institutions, the Better Business Bureau, and will also be filing a small claims suit against them.

I warn all fellow consumers that Chase can't be trusted and your money IS NOT SAFE! Stay tuned as this story unfolds....

Not Failed....

AUTHOR: Bman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, August 06, 2010

The banks have our money and will hold onto it until new regulations shake the money loose. The following entities do indeed control most of the world financial markets: THE WORLD BANK, INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND, INTER-AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK, and there are additional sources. The problem that we are experiencing is quite simple, for ten years salaries did not go up, people wanted to live better than the year before, so they borrowed money. This is what has thrown us all in the toilet.

BRIANNA, THE U.S. ECONOMY AND THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ARE BEING CONTROLLED BY A CARTEL OF GREEDY & CORRUPT BANKERS WHO ARE OUT TO FINANCIALLY INJURE AS MANY INNOCENT HUMAN BEINGS AS POSSIBLE....

AUTHOR: Karl - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, August 06, 2010

in my opinion.

*You can 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, and go to the site with the 5 charts of ownership and review all of the names of the people and the companies that are listed there, okay?

Look at the names of the banks that are listed. JP Morgan appears in 'Chart 1', right? They also appear in 'Chart 3', correct? ('JP Morgan' & 'Chase' are one in the same, isn't that so?)

Make sure to 'Google' this- ORIGINAL DISSENT WHO CONTROLS THE U.S. ECONOMY?, and look at all of the pictures of the people who are posted there, along with their job titles, alright?

It's quite easy to understand what's really going on in the USA and around the world if you simply look at, and understand, the facts.

*It basically comes down to this- A group (cartel) of CORRUPT & GREEDY people want to control the economies and the governments of as many countries as possible in order to achieve their ultimate goal: WORLD DOMINATION.

Guess what?

THEY FAILED!

Thank You

WELCOME TO PLANET EARTH- ONE MASSIVE LIE, BEING CONTROLLED BY A CARTEL OF INEPT, CORRUPT, & GREEDY BANKERS

****************************** SONG ALERT ******************************

*A new song should be available at the BANK OF AMERICA page of this site soon. It is posted as an Update to one of the Ripoff Reports.

Like Pigs in a Troth

AUTHOR: Bman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 30, 2010

The stories are very close to my experience with Chase, and the commentary is accurate about the way banks, big business, corporations, and Wall Street are trying to put the middle class and the poor into a financial bind. The deregulation since Ronald Reagan is when the problem began with his union busting and credo that the market can monitor itself. And I believe that pigs can fly! This banking system (ruled by various world bank organizations) is the 21st Century version slavery being perpetrated against the American people. The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Trade Organization, and the World Bank have been treating countries outside of the USA much like what we are experiencing now. The goal is to stop production, send our work and jobs overseas (trade agreements), and then sell the products back from another country only cheaper. The indigenous people and their society closes down and a mediocre homogenous system takes OUR place (see LIFE AND DEBT). We live in a bizarre world where community has been replaced by being forced into becoming a commodity buyer so that banks can drain us of all our resources (see THE END OF POVERTY?). Now we have a bank system that is willing to pass all their mistakes onto the public, not address any wrongs that they create (due to deregulation), and we bail the big banks out. This is very unusual and has not be done before, and then the huge bonuses that CEOs took when they caused Americans such suffering, allowing them to loose their homes, savings, quality of life, and in some cases their lives. I just heard today in my neighborhood about a man that lost his job and was hounded by these evil organizations committee suicide (see SPEAKING FREELY). The bank practices are EVIL since the intention is to do the American people damage (see MAXED OUT). I am lucky that I was able to get loose of the influence of this bank and am struggling to disengage myself from all the credit cards I have acquired. Easy money leads to indentured servitude. Might I be so bold as to suggest a few DVD titles that will help explain the problem we are all facing? They are:

THE CORPORATION
SPEAKING FREELY: JOHN PERKINS
THE END OF POVERTY?
And for a case study about how the policies affect a culture:
LIFE AND DEBT.
The world has known our cruelty in the marketplace where capitalism is built on free labor, now it has come to roost with us. We started our great nation with slavery and now it has come back again.

Chase is an out of control financial institution

AUTHOR: Skiper - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 25, 2010

My opinion is that Chase is so big and powerful that they can do no wrong.  They are after the little people and they don't care who they hurt.  I have a very small mortgage on a property.  They are not accepting payments from me because they claim I owe them money.  I have copies of all my payments to them.  They have not sent me an invoice in over 10 months.  I pay them anyway.  Now, they claim that my payments for June 2010 and July 2010 boundced.  I checked my bank.  They lied.  I would have never known except for the fact that I was concerned that the checks had not been cashed and I called them.  I sent them cashiers checks, and had the local Chase bank mail it to them.  I have receipts from Chace, but guess what?  Those payments have not been applied.  Eventually they wll try to foreclose on the property.  I will nail them in court with copies of my Chase receipts. You are also right about their representatives.  They are of no help.  I believe they read from a script.  I asked them if I could record our conversation.  They got angry and said no.  I asked them why they were recording mine since I don't want them to?  I received no reply.  Good luck with your fight.  I would love to start a movement against Chase.  There is power in people and we need to fight these greedy banks.
