I'm sad to say, I've been had. I placed a claim with Choice Home Warranty because our heat went out during a record breaking cold snap. I have no heat in the home, 2 small children and a wife with cancer. After no response regarding repair approval, then a request for documentation that would take "up to 24hrs to process". Then it was "we haven't received any documents" and finally "documents can take up to 24hrs to LOAD". Their final answer after much poking and prodding was "we won't be able to help with this problem."
I decided to do a little research. Here are the results:
1) Choice Home Warranty has a F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
2) Choice Home Warranty had been ordered to cease and desist operating without a licence in Washington and California.
3) Choice Home Warranty is not licensed to operate in Texas, my state.
4) Legal proceedings are soon to follow and I'm sure the State of Texas will be interested too.I'm sad to say, I've been had.
