Purchased a home, with warranty. Paid $450 for a year. A/C part broke a month later and they agreed to pay for the work to be done. I called to check on the reimbursement check and they decided they were only going to pay a fraction of what they promised.

 

After hours of time on the phone and repeated phone calls, they finally agreed to pay the amount. I called on 08/16/16 to check on the status and they sent me to a manager in the cancellations department. I told them I was very unsatisfied with the company and how they had been treating us from the initial claim beginning..

 

Andy the senior manager, said that he was going to withhold the reimbursement check until I signed a release form that stated I was going to keep my mouth shut and not leave bad reviews, or send complaints to governing bodies. This is extortion for my own money. And last I checked this is America and I have the right to freedom of speech. I also have the right to leave a bad review in good faith based on factual instances.

 

This company refuses to pay claims and claims they aren't about making money yet they make any excuse they can to get out of paying. No one should be bullied in signing something to keep them quiet about a company who is doing wrong. The more research I do on this company, the more I see that they are a crooked company and they've already had to pay thousands and thousands in restitution..

Another thing, we purchased the warranty 5/31 for $450. Our warranty should be effective immediately. On 6/20 we filed a claim for an unexpected a/c part failure. Which was covered under the warranty according to one of your claims specialists (which was recorded on a phone call). The amount for the work completed that was authorized to be done by CHW was $414. So yes, I have paid enough to cover the repairs at that point. And yes I do expect them to pay the reimbursement because they agreed it was approved.

Second, I never said I was going to "bash" them as you say. I said I was dissatisified with the porr service and was going to leave a poor review based on my bad experience in good faith. Nothing about that is insurance fraud. I am not expecting anything to come of this monetarily wise. I just don't want people to have to experience the stress and burden this company and process has been from the beginning. It is merely to warn others.

No threats were made. Thanks. Just a grown man upset that I didn't care for the way he was treating me decided to use the little power he has over the situation to hurt me and my family. Ultimately all he did was keep money from my 4 daughters and put us further behind finanicially. Not like have our a/c breakdown while its 104 degrees outside was enough stress on us.

What good is having a warranty if they approve a claim, then deny to give you the reimbursement because a manager took my opinion of the company personally. Thats not business. He claimed that its not all about the money but yet here we are.

I have done my research and read through attorney generals of NJ website for all the claims against against this company. You know what they and I all had in common, everything. My situation is exactly like others peoples experiences and its just awful to see people had to go throught this too..

Like you said this is my opinion, but everything I said is FACT, this is my experience and it was awful.. There is a reason why this company had to pay out almost $1m in restitution. The BBB has so many complaints its unbelievable.

 The fact is, the work was approved, they went through processing to issue the check after they approved all the work. Andy didn't like that I said I was dissatisfied with the customer service. From that point on he made the decision to try and force me to sign a notarized legal document stating I had to keep my mouth shut about my experience with the company. I talked to my lawyer and real estate broker and they both agree this is extortion. Witholding money that was already agreed to be paid out contingent on me signing that bogus release form is asinine. Bottom line... The approved the work and amount through the contractor and refuse to pay now. I'm sure if I was bubbly and just filled their egos with rainbows and glitter that check would still be in route.

 See the issue is that you are submitting a claim within 30 days of getting the warranty by your own admission. There in lies the reason they pulled back what they are going to pay. What YOU are doing is what someone who wishes to commit insurance fraud would do. Its also the matter of you havent paid enough to even cover the repairs. How can you expect that they are going to pay out a laege sum of money when you havent even paid in more then the amount of the repair. While yes you have the right to voice your opinion you DO NOT have the right to bash them. You get to state your complaint but you do not get to place your opinion in thier without clarifying that it IS your opinion. If you do not preface ANY post you make with it is your opinion then it makes it sheer defamation. See you have assumed that since you have a warranty that its going to cover your issues. Did you read the contract that you agreed to? More then likely not and that lack of knowledge is what is causing your issue. Obviously YOU have threatened them and in doing so they have the right to negotiate with you. Part of that negotiation is that you have to keep your trap shut. That is NOT extortion its business. People like YOU tend to think that the whole world works the way you think it should and YOU ignore the reality of the situation in order to get your way. By threatening them over a situation that YOU have caused due to YOUR assumption is YOU trying to force them into giving you your way. The reality is that you have not had the warranty long enough to justify the amount that YOU want them to pay. You are submitting a claim within a period of time that makes YOU look like someone attempting insurance fruad. So im sure you can understand that them working with you is above and beyond what they are LEGALLY meant to do for you and the price is that YOU have to keep quiet. Guess what....YOU SCREWED THAT OPTION UP!!! So dont expect them to do anything for you until YOU qualify for that type of repair. You can also expect that THEY get a shot at YOU for defamation because you have posted what amounts to false information on a public consumption website. Ignorance is NOT allowed as a defence for what you have willingly chose to commit. YOU are ignorant of your own policy. So due to the FACT that you didnt take the time to read and understand what you were agreeing to you have now comiited an act that you can be sued for.
