In January of 2004, I moved into an apartment in Scottsdale, AZ. This complex offered high speed Internet, digital telephone and cable. Before relocating and while my computer was connected, I searched for special in this area and noticed Cox had an Internet special for all three services. I called them and told them I was interested in their special and the location where I wanted service. They said, once you're there call us and we will hook you up to the special.

I called to get the Internet special and was told, I had to sign up via computer. I said, I have no internet connection or phone because I was going to use all three of their services as advertised on there special. The person I spoke with said, no problem, I will give you that special and you'll get your first bill in a month or so, I said...great!.

It took over a week to get the phone connected and once connected the phone didn't work. They made several service calls here and found the wiring was outdated and got the phone working. Now, once the phone was connected and I was on the Internet it worked fine but when off the Internet my phone didn't work so well.

My first bill came in April, 2004 when I noticed a $200 deposit for the phone and full price for all three services. I immediately call Cox where the someone in the call center assured me they had straighten out the mess on my bill.

Every time I went online to pay my bill the they request the deposit and late fees, and full charges for all three services. I called and had the phone removed and told them to credit back the two hundred dollars since I didn't want their phone.

For the next six months I was over charged for cable and the Internet, and a late bill of over $100 left on the phone that I had for 3 months and had paid on. The phone was included in the Internet special and total monthly cost of $86.00 for the first 6 months, I was paying approximately $140 per months for months and months. No matter how many calls I made to get charges reversed and promises it was being taken care of, it was never taken care of and I got no refund. Right now I have an outstanding bill of $137 for a phone I had for 4 months.

Disgusted that my Internet special had not been honored I wrote to the BBB, Cox, and the Attorney Generals office along with copies of payments etc. and they swept it under the carpet. They didn't even get so much as slap on the hands.

I down graded to basic cable and got rid of my high speed Internet. This corporation needs to be sued and reimburse all those people they have ripped off.

If there is any class action suit against them, please include me.
