I received a pop-up on my laptop stating that if I was a TimeWarner customer to call 1-877-759-5082 to disable pop-ups.  I was connected to a technician with a heavy Indian accent, calling himself "Peter", who gained access into my laptop, and showed me several pages of "viruses", and persuaded me to purchase antivirus protection that would cover all technology in my home for $299, for a 2-year plan. He was in my computer, manipulating, and asking me to enter my name, address, debit card info, and he pulled up my email account and asked me to enter my password.  Luckily, my bank would not process transaction, due to suspicion of fraud. I was confused as to who he worked for, and he never really told me the name of the company until the end of transaction.  He wanted to stay on the line with me to contact my bank to tell them to put the payment through, but I told him that I would do it myself and contact him back.  I looked on the internet, and SCAM came up.  I called them back and said to cancel everything.  I received a phone call from "Peter", asking if I had called the bank yet (from a private #), and I said that I was not going to, as I had canceled for fraud suspicion, and he tried to convince me that it was just my bank being cautious. I had to tell him several times that I was not interested.
