We needed to change to a Pay as you go phone service. We have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone we had used on Sprint.
We call Starighttalk and talked to a customer service Rep named Kirby. We talked to him for about 10 minutes and he checked and confirmed we could use our current phone. We just needed to go to the Walmart and purchase the BYOP kit abd activate or phone.
When we got to Walmart we found the BYOP kit he was talking about, we noticed they had a QR code we were to scan to see if our current phone was compatible to bring over to Straighttalk. We received a screenthat said Good News, your phone is compatible to use on Straight Talk.
So I spent $63.00 on the BYOP kit and went home and was not able to get it to activate the phone correctly. So I called Customer Support and they went throught the process with me and they told me my phone was not compatible. I explained the steps I took prior to purchasing the BYOP kit and that it says my phoneis compatible.
They said I cannot get a refund from them, that is their policy.
So beware you can call and use their tool to check if you can bring your own phone over and get the Good News you can. But only until you purchase the kit and try is the real test. I have tried now 2 different phones that their tool says is compatible but they both are not according to Straighttalk customer serivce.
So they get $60 from every person who uses their tool and purchases the kit, just to find out it cannot be used and they will not give you a refund.
Please beware!!!!!!

I even called customer service and they said my phone was compatable. Then when I called back because the phone still wasn't on I was told my phones serial number and pin was taken and used on another phone and there was nothing I could do. I was out the 60$. I was told I had to buy another $45 activation card. No way, they ain't stealing any more money from me. How is Straight talk getting away with stealing money?
