In Dec 2004 I signed a contract for them to locate 52 bulk candy machines. Paid $1300 up front then $1300 to be paid when job completed. They 'guaranteed' to replace lost locations within 2 years. They also guarantee gross revenue in first 12 mths will cover initial investment of machines ($12,495 in my case) or they will refund the difference. Seems like a no risk proposition, huh? Guarantees are only as good as the company behind it... and this company and owner Jim Ellis aren't worth crap!!!
First, the locating agent they sent placed machines without proper authorization. Some were simply left when no one was looking! He even went into a couple of businesses and placed my machines and walked out with a different machine that was already on the premises. Told the workers that the owner was putting in a new machine. That's right, he stole other machines!
Needless to say, I quickly lost several locations (12) in the first month. I've since lost 4 more. I've placed over 20 calls to Jim Ellis to ask for the locations to be replaced. He won't pick up the phone! Neither will anyone else. What a bunch of cowards. Heck, I only want new locations. The only person I reach is Steven Mills because he is in the 'sales dept' but he doesn't help. He has to pick up the phone because it may be a potential new sucker... I mean client.
You'd think they would be eager to get these quickly replaced so they don't have to make good on their revenue guarantee. HAHAHAHAHA! Like I said, a guarantee is only as good as the company that stands behind it. The people in this company hide. When/if it comes time to ask for a refund of the difference, I'm sure I'll have to retain an attorney.
Efforts to date: Faxed lost locations 1/18/05, 1/24/05 and 2/4/05 - I have to transmittal confirmations to prove it. 1/19/05 - 2/9/05 Numerous phone messages. Sometimes 2-3 per day. Finally, 2/9/05 Federal Trade Commission complaint and BBB complaint filed. Next step is the attorney general.
Jim, when you respond to this, don't call me a liar because I do have the proof - fax transmittals, cancelled checks, certified mail with return reciept and a signed contract. If you want to discuss it, call me

I notice nobody else has made a comment on this topic. Did anyone else fall for these creeps or the other companies and let me know I want to hear from you.
Locating is actually easy and takes time to figure out.
Why waiste $500 when the contract is bogus!!!!!!!!!!

#3 Consumer Suggestion
hose contracts mean nothing.

I went to Ebay to look up some info and if this book I ordered tells me what I want I will do better locating.
All the locating companies should be out of business. Those contracts mean nothing.
I have 30 units and 23 placed b/c some people told me places and it works so far plus by paying $50 to anyone for a location it works.

Vending-went with a private locator

I went with a private locator. I'm not mentioning names but the locator knows his stuff. As far as rushing me it wasn't pleasant. One other problem I have is to see if I have a machine located in a deli b/c I looked at my paperwork and the place isn't where its at. As far as the big companies I would definitely stay away from b/c nobody gets their money.
Talk to friends, coworkers, and relatives and mention how awesome the business is b/c things can get better.

Vending Why sign a contract

Why sign a contract? Pay your friends, neighbors, coworkers! They will help find places. I was told that by one of my jobs I work for. I guarantee if you pay your friends and coworkers hopefully everyone in a decent mood then you will make the income that you would like to. All these big companies know nothing at all. They have those contracts to sign and let me say don't guarantee that you will get decent spots. If from what I'm reading is true then these locating companies need to be out of business and in court.
I paid a friend $50 about three weeks ago and its bringing in decent money. The machines are awesome and when they have to get cleaned then I just make the time to do so.
When anyone reads this then they will understand.
The contracts say $500 on down deposit which means you don't see that money. Then they want the rest of the money. Another thing about the locating companies is that the locators only make like $30 if that so no wonder why everything is so screwed up.
I am also buying a magnetic banner ad on the back of my vehicle so people can see it.
It won't have much just simple stuff so that people can call me and ask me.
