In February of 2005, I purchased along with my daughter and son-in-law 60 vending machines from Vendstar here on Long Island. They recommended Vending Dreams to help us locate our Machines.

At the end of March VD started to locate my daughter's machines. A locator named Paul Keiper did my daughter's machines. He did not allow Jen[my daughter]to go in with him because he said it was too many people and he got more yesses if he did it himself.

Never having done this before, we thought he knew what he was doing, so we deferred to him. Some of the locations were based on a return trip to place the actual machines in a couple of weeks. Well when Jen went to place at the specified time that Paul told her, she was told that the locator was told no at that time and he took a business card with him.

So, liar, thief, take your pick. When he came to do my 30 machines, a short time later, he did the same thing. He also stole machines and told me they were from a friend of his who was selling them for $65, so I bought 10 of them for $650 plus a locating fee of $25 per machine for a total of $900. After this I found out that he was a fraud. Jim Ellis was aware of this and he did make good for those machines for me.

The problem is that now after many phone calls, I still need 23 machines placed, which Jim Ellis has already been paid for. It has been 6 months since I purchased these machines and I feel that both me and my charity have lost a significant amount of potential revenue. I don't know if anyone can help me, but i have written to our NYS Att. Gen. office for some advice on how to handle this.

Explain this to me if anyone there gets this.

If the customer isn't getting what they were told onto the contract then your lying to the charities as well. Us independent vendors pay money per month on the charities so you can be apologetic to them as well.

demand that money back

I forgot to mention something else.

Why did they say that you weren't allowed in the location? Thats how you learn.

Another problem you demand that money back b/c the contract doesn't state anywhere to buy extra machines that is someone elses property. Thats theft. They're job is to place machines in places that are supposed to be at least decent traffic and from what I gather they're not.

I was introduced to this company by my coaching. Heres the breakdown

1. Make sure you get a signed paper guaranteeing that the company won't telemarket.

2. Don't let these companies fool you or pressure you into anything until you know the business.

3. Call the attorney generals office b/c it doesn't say anything in the contract that they are supposed to take out someones machine.

4. The owner of the other machine has every righ to sue the company for that

5. If they take out my machine I will be on the phone and asking WHY my machine was taken out. Everyone is trying to make something going.

6. Never pay a company that money up front knowing that now you don't see that money.

You fell for the trap.

About vendstar not the greatest machines as they "use a celebrity".

Never ever sign a contract with any locator b/c you have just been screwed.

Seriously I was going to go for this company but if you sign a contract you will not get that money back. Also I was aware about them lying about someone elses machines.
