Z TEL COMMUNICATIONS deception lies deception dishonest fraudulent billing explosive overcharging criminals!! Atmore Alabama

Z-Tel as they call themselves are the largest batch of criminals that I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with!!

Their low life telemarketers inerrupted my wife's friday morning with the promise of a lower phone bill. Promising her a large savings over our present carrier(Ameritech).
After a long batch of lies they finally got her to say yes to their scam. one of the most important lies that my wife made sure of was that our Internet service provider(15 miles away) was included in the local area....She was assured it was (LIES)Please read on it gets real good!!

Another lie was that we could try the service for five days before deciding to keep the service. Skeptical I called them (after the switch..(Next day)(Sat) to be sure it was local to our ISP and was told it was not!

At that time I told them loudly so they would understand it, To disconnect the servece immediately! They said they could not! Next I panicked and called Ameritech to try and get back with them and they said it was Illegal for them to switch me from them (Z-Tel) so quickly and would take at least 30 days to make the switch!! I thought wow only took these criminals at Z-Tel over night and Ameritech owns the only line comming past my place.

After fighting with both of them (tooth and nail) for a month we end up with a one month phone bill from Z-Tel for 1,034.44 Yes that's one thousand thirtyfour dollars and fourtyfour cents. Our normal carrier before Z-Tel (ameritech)would have charged about 50.00 Fifty dollars for the same service. I told their collections dept. I would pay them the same as our usual previous carrier would have charged for the same service but nothing doing for these criminals!

This took place in May of 2001 and just today(03/01/04) we tried to get credit to buy a car and this Criminal company's Illegal charges on our credit report stopped the purchase.

please folks...Do Not! do business with this Criminal company!!

A final note..Upon contacting the Better Business bureau here in Michigan,I was told that my waiting period to get back with ameritech was their way of punishing us for switching from them to another carrier! And to this day I have no doubt that is exactly what happened!
Not happy with Z-Tel nor Ameritech for allowing these aiding and abedding these criminals in their extortion attempt!

Where were our Michigan lawmakers while this was going on??
