Saw chairs on Amazon. Put on wish list til payday. Sold out. Featured again over 4th of July. Called Amazon to make sure seller was verified. After hearing the seller was backed by Amazon I bought 3 chairs, all from the same seller. The chairs were to come originally by July 16th. Planned a 4th of July party with a few seniors but changed the date to surprise them and to give them the new chairs and have them delivered (our expense) to where they live. They missed the 4th, we missed seeing them on the 4th but the chairs will be a great surprise. Never received a tracking number. Waited a few days with no contact from seller or Amazon. Called Amazon, the advertiser for the seller, and we were told they would contact the seller. No word. Check website and the delivery date changed to about 1 week later. By the time we realized Amazon had set us up with a shady company we had taken days off work, not paid, to wait for our chairs (can't leave 3 chairs on the porch without being noticed), made the menus, ordered the food, hired help to transport the people, hired medical help (just in case), rearranged our own furniture to make room for 3 chairs for the surprise. Surprise...no chairs and no tracking number. Reached out again. Amazon took the responsibility onto themselves (it is their fault as they advertised the seller) and they would contact seller. No contact. Now the shipped was delayed. How do they know this if there is no tracking anywhere? I digress...contacted Amazon at one of the 2 numbers buyers are given. One is representives and one is logistics. We talked with a rep and were told the chairs would arrive July 28th. Transferred us to logistic (same day/same call) and that rep told us July 30th. Odd. No reason given to us as to why the date is different. Welcome July 28th. Took off work as today's the day!! We already burned $1500 on food we threw out (can't freeze pasta salad, may 0 potato salad, puddings and jell-os, pastas and rice dishes), movers so the seniors can take the chairs with them when they leave, the hired help and all my helpers in the kitchen. NOT falling for that again and knowing how Amazon has really been going down hill lately (2 misdelivered packages in 1 week and now we have to wait for the refund dispite having TWO major number signs on the house), we wanted to call to make sure we will have the chairs today as Amazon gauranteed their arrival. Called Amazon and they stated the chairs will be here today by 5. Waited until 1 my time. No chairs. Called Amazon and then we were told the chairs may be lost/damaged/non existent and they would check it. After telling them this for a group of seniors, the runaround began. On hold endlessly, transferring calls, getting hung up, put on hold. Six hours begging for our merchandise that we paid for and have been waiting for almost 1 month. At the end of the day Amazon, who is totally at fault, one of their agents decided to inform me that the seller was removed but allowed to sell by another name and I could rebuy from the new store. Why would Amazon let this happen? I was also informed that they have no fraud department or theft department. Why? I also learned anyone can open a store with any prices and promises and Amazon will in fact promote and advertise your store, verified or not. Anyway, someone decided to cancel our order, without our permission, and we advised them to listen to the recordings and terminate the employee. Once it was disclosed by us that the chairs were for seniors, suddenly the chairs were not available and certainly lost. Really? With no tracking number and no contact with the seller, Amazon is making the decision to take away 3 chairs from seniors and leaving me with a full garbage can of wasted food, the dirty looks from all I stood up (although it's not my fault, that's Amazon), a call log of every call we had with them and what we were promised (and how it changed when they saw the people's ages). Clearly this is a company that is more interested in younger crowds (I am assuming they aim young to get the naive to buy more) and do not back their words. Agents are paid (allegedly workers are flown in, work a short time and flown back, thus undercutting wages people need) to lie to customers, promote shady sellers, run advertising for anyone for anything whilst slanting a good percentage of people that are older (and they assume are too timid to bring lawsuits).

When a company, no matter what company, opens a store, claims to have an item, falsely claims it is shipped, refuses to answer the customer or the advertising (in this case Amazon) company, they deserve to have reports like these. Amazon, taking on the responsibility/liability of it's sellers is at fault. If you go to a store and a display falls and hurts your child, do you sue the maker of the item or the store that did not fasten it down? Yep. Exactly. I wonder how many people, with theft in mind, can now open storefronts and get the advertising from Amazon? I've recently read a few other posts on why???? Amazon features people like this....the answer is for data. If it's your personal data or if it's to get a feel for what people are shopping for (so they themselves know what to make under their own brand and to advertise it more effectively at a lower price, hence undercutting the original storefront). This is shady at best. ALWAYS buy in person is great lesson to learn from. By the way, there is NO way all the advanced plans could be done in less than 1 week and I was fortunate for that. The weather (beastly warm) would be warming up in August and we did what we could to avoid moving all this at that time. I'm more of a honest person...you tell me you will have it, tell you when to expect it, tell you you shipped it...I trusted Amazon that all of this would happen. The fault is not at my feet for believing the seller or Amazon. The fault clearly lies at the feet of those that chose to engage in fraud.

You made a whole bunch of plans around the ESTIMATED delivery date of an item that hadn't even shipped yet??  How is that Amazon's fault?  You shouldn't make any plans until the items are received and inspected.  Stuff gets lost, damaged, and delayed in shipping all the time.  And yes, if I was the seller, I would cancel your order, too.  You don't seem to have a slightest clue of how mail order merchandise works.
