Amazon Delayed order several days passed promised delivery date

Ordered a Visa gift card from Amazon for same-day delivery with a credit card. they placed a delay on the order pending verification from the credit card company that lasted 3 days. They did not notify me of them placing a delay on the order until 8 p.m. that day, with the delivery window being between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

I had also placed three other orders for $50, $75, and $112 with the same card and they processed those orders without waiting for a verification from the credit card company. I could understand how placing a complete hold on all transactions would make sense; However, placing a hold on one transaction while approving all other transactions makes absolutely zero sense. A week later, I ordered another gift card for my friend's wedding gift to be delivered at their house.

Unfortunately, this order set up for same-day delivery was once again delayed pending credit card verification for 3 days. I order hundreds of dollars of merchandise from Amazon every month. The reason I'm posting here is becausewhen I try to leave a negative review on Amazon's website they did not allow me to leave a negative review of 1 star. they should not be sifting through customer reviews and only allowing the good reviews to pass through.

The management of this company is piss-poor. You don't promise somebody first day delivery and then have them look irresponsible by not delivering on the promised date. Amazon should have contacted me right after I placed the order to notify me of a delay, that way I could go purchase a gift card myself from a store and go to the post office and ship it. Anyway, I will no longer do business with this company. Buyer beware if you're ordering gift cards from Amazon and need them delivered by a certain date.
