Century Link allowed Dish Network to cancel my account without my knowledge, nor consent. I am now being charged an early termination fee of $200.00 from Century Link. I get e-mails for everything else from this company, but received nothing concerning my account being closed. I have talked to multiple representatives due to not knowing what happened with my account. I would like to know how Century Link can charge me a $200.00 early termination fee when I did not terminate nor authorize Dish Network or anyone to make any changes to my account. Dish Network terminated my service and account not me the consumer. Dish canceled my account and they should be responsable for any and all fees incurred from their actions. I am willing to file a law suit against Century Link and Dish Network. These pratices are fraudulent and illegal.

I did call Dish Network to inquire about what they bundle and priceing. After receiveing information I informed representative from Dish, I was not interested in a package ( bundle). Somehow Dish activated a bundle without consent for TV, Internet and phone, in which I have e-mails to confirm. Dish also sent me a new modem for these services. Dish uses preferred vendors for some of their services. I have confirmation now from Century Link, it was one of the preferred vendors Dish uses who canceled my Century Link Internet account. Now please tell me again what you think of these types of practices. I will tell you it is fraud, and most certainly illegal. I never received any notification from Century Link my account was being closed nor if I had given consent for these changes. This account was closed by a vendor of Dish without my consent. The long and short of this whole matter is no means no.

Interesting...so you are somehow claiming that Dish just out of the blue picked you out at random and some guy in a back room said "Hey, let's just call up this person's cable company and cancel him just for the heck of it".

No?  That is not what you are saying.  Well then what is the rest of the story?  Perhaps it went something like this.

Perhaps, just one day you decided to switch to Dish and had them come out and install it.  Now, when they installed it I bet you signed a few pieces of paper that was various consents and agreements for the work they were doing.

So now you have Dish, and for your claims to have no idea this was going on, you would have to basically come here and say that even though you are on Dish..you were still going to pay Centrury Link.  Umm..something doesn't seem that right about that.  So let's look why.

Well for one, not once in this report do you say you tried to get the Century Link service restored.  Not once do you complain about how one day your Century Link service just stopped and you didn't know why.   No your only complaint is that they are now charging you $200.

After all if you had tried one would think that would deserve at least a mention in your report on Century Link.

It honestly sounds like you are trying to be "slick" and THINK you found a "loophole".  But you probably don't have a leg to stand on.  For one, you better double and triple check what you signed if there is ANYTHING about you giving them authorization to cancel your current provider you are out of luck.  And second as I mentioned the only way to avoid the Early Termination fee is to continue service.

By the way what happened to the equipment that you had from Century Link?  As if that wasn't returned they would surely have billed you for that as well.
