Mediacom Mediacom are Ripoff artists! Fairhope, Alabama

Mediacom are Ripoff artists! I called mediacom a little over a year ago to get cable internet. They signed me up for a flat fee with no contract as I asked for. Now, one year later, they are telling me that I agreed to a rate increase of $10 per month. I told them I did not and if they insisted, I would cancel my service. They proceeded to tell me I also agreed to a 2 year contract and I would owe them for an additional year. Neither of these statements are true!

Mediacom claims they have proof that I agreed to the rate increase and a 2 year contract - which they have not been able to provide after more than two months of me asking for this so called proof. This company does not even have the courtesy to respond to my emails any longer. All they do is send bills in the mail indicating I am over due on these false balances.

When I call "customer no-service", the mediacom person tells me they will look into the matter, but nothing ever happens... I just get another bill indicating I owe more money with late fees.

I am VERY frustrated with this company and I will NEVER do business with them again - either personally or with my business!! I will make it a point to place posters in my business and talk to customers to discourage anyone else from using mediacom. I would not recommend you do business with this company, but if you do, I would strongly encourage you to get everything in writing or record all phone conversations. You can bet I will from now on!
