Approximately five or six days ago, a storm came through my town. Lots of wind and all that jazz. My cable line runs from the front of my house, across the street, and attaches to the electricity pole. During the storm, my cable line got knocked loose in a way that it's laying on the ground and dangling in a way that when cars drive by, they run into it, occasionally catching on the vehicles. I called Mediacom immediately (about 6 pm cst) to report it. The lady I spoke with put me on hold so she could speak with her supervisor. About 5 minutes later, she took me off hold and told me that she'd have someone out here immediately to fix it, and said it needed to be taken care of right away. 3 hours later, the line is still down. I decided to call again to see if anyone would be out there that night to fix it (different person on the phone this time). In this case, this lady said they'd have someone out here to put the line back up within 24 hours. Fast forward to the next day.. over 24 hours later, the line is still down. I decided to call a third time to ask what the deal is (another different lady). She looked into the problem for me, and said she had no clue why the first girl said "immediately", or the second girl said "withing 24 hours", because in her system it showed that I was scheduled for an APPOINTMENT on Monday. She did attempt to dispatch someone in my town to come out here that night, but obviously, noone showed up because my line is STILL laying/dangling in the road! Two days ago, the cops came to my door to ask me about the line. Keep in mind, when I told him that Mediacom had to come out to fix it, he shook his head in disgust and said "Man, I really hate them." Yeah.... they don't have a very good reputation in my town as far as customer service goes. I assured him I'd keep fighting to get someone out here to fix it. And YESTERDAY.. a worker from the power company showed up at my door threatening to CUT the cable line, so it doesn't damage the power line for the people on my street, since it's connected to the same pole. Fortunately, I was able to talk them out of it... for now.
On top of this issue, my internet service has been going in and out for a week now. This wouldn't be a huge deal if it weren't for the fact that I'm a writer, and I work from home. I NEED my internet that I PAY for.
This isn't my first rodeo with Mediacom either. About 3 years ago, I was a victim of a home invasion. I was assaulted, my life threatened, and my cable box stolen because it was attached to the TV that the guy ALSO stole. A full police report was filed immediately. Long story short, Mediacom tried to charge me $400+ for the stolen cable box! Fortunately, I was able to dispute in on here successfully.
I WANT MY LINE PUT BACK UP SO I CAN STOP GETTING MY DOOR KNOCKED ON BY THE POLICE AND POWER COMPANY EMPLOYEES. Is this really too much to ask for?? Could be a whopping 10 minutes of an employee's time??
I'm really, reallllllly sick of your company. If I had an option, I'd be switching providers right now.
