First of all, let it be known that straightalk.com which is Wal Mart's attempt to get their greedy hands into the cellphone business uses Tracfone customer service.  Please do not think that customer service is what you get from Tracfone either!

If you purchase the cheapest phone straighttalk offers, you are paying for a phone that does not have the ability to send or receive pictures or use the web.  This is supposed to be included in either the 30 or 45 dollar airtime card you purchase.  So, you are paying for service you cannot get with their cheap phone.  Why are they selling I ask?

Now, when you go to activate your phone it will say wait 5 minutes then dial a number to complete activation.  Chuckle, chuckle, the joke is now on you because it will not activate in that five minues.  So you call customer service and forgive me for saying so, but if you are going to work in a US company, please be able to speak our language so that we can actually understand what the heck you are saying.  99% of the time when I have to call Tracfone, I spend more time asking them to repeat what they said because their foreign accent is so strong I cannot understand them and therefore I am on the phone forever trying to get answers.  They can never solve the problem either.

5 minutes for activation?  I am now at hour 21 and my phone is still not activated.  I get some BS explanation that the phone is searching for towers (they use Verizon towers) and a phone number to go with it.  Now my intelligence is insulted.  I have used AT&T, Cingular, Verizon and etc. and at no time did I ever have a problem getting a phone activated.  They are just too expensive to use anymore. You can count on having nothing but pure headaches if you are using a company that has anything whatsoever to do with Tracfone.

Now, while I am mentioning this, I will let you know a prior experience I had with Tracfone.  I had two Tracfones in my hand, one a flip phone the other not. I could not get service with the flip phone. I called Tracfone using the non flip phone and explained to them about the non service with the flip phone.  They said "we do not provided service in that area".  I then said "Okay, the how am I currently speaking to you with a Tracfone if there is no service in the area". They simply implied that I was lying and they refused to refund my money for the flip phone.

I still have a Tracfone, non flip and I get service everywhere with that phone; however, if you choose to use that company, rest assured you will get no refunds, no credits and absolutely horrible customer service.

Wal Mart, as usual, is advertising Straighttalk as this great deal..............it may be......................if I ever actually get to use my phone I will be sure to post how great or not it is.
