Back in March I bought my band a van through a private party seller. I used Wells Fargo for the financing. At the time of purchase, I paid for everything you normally would in a vehicle purchase; license, registration, tax, etc. The van at the time had expired tags so I paid that fee to Wells Fargo. They said the new tags would be mailed to me in a week or so once they processed the paperwork with the DMV.

Several weeks later I started calling them asking where my tags were. Their excuse, every week for about two months, was that they didn't have a loan processor to take the paperwork to the DMV and were in the process of hiring someone. The prior owner of the van would call me and complain that the van was still in his name (because Wells Fargo hadn't processed anything with the DMV or his bank). I told him my bank was being no help in the matter and I didn't know what else to tell him.

I let it go for a few months because other things came up in my life, until the last few weeks where I really need to off load the van because I cannot pay for it any longer by myself. Mind you, I have been paying for a vehicle that I cannot legally drive because ..1: it isn't in my name and ..2: the tags are expired, both the banks fault and completely out of my control. I found a company that will work with me to buy/rent/take over the van payment because they deal with bands on tour and loaning out vans. However, I have to at least get the tags and the name transfered over to me from the prior owner's bank.

I just got off the phone with Wells Fargo once again, whose excuse is that they still don't have a processor! I let them have it! How can a large bank not have the ability to outsource it's paperwork to another brach while they find a loan processor! I honestly can't believe this! I complained that I have been paying them for a vehicle for the last SIX MONTHS, that I can't even drive due to their own issues! I called the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint as my first step. They told me to find a lawyer.

I honestly have no money to pay an attorney. I need to get reimbursed for 6 months of having a van I cannot drive due to Wells Fargo's personal problems. I would like to take them to court. I don't know my options. I have spoken to the top at Wells Fargo and they cannot help me, they told me to speak to the branch I worked with. The guy who did my loan won't even talk to me, he had me on with some girl who kept asking for the name of the guy who did my loan, to which I kept telling her it was the guy who won't talk to me and she said that was impossible!

I am not sure what to do. I exhausted all means through Wells Fargo and the BBB. Does anyone who knows the law have a solution to this problem? I really need some advice and options.
