I was really excited when I first found nomorerack.com, and I ordered a pair of sweater boots that I really loved. I was supposed to get free shipping on my free order, but the discount was never applied... but it was only $2, so I never looked into it. The boots arrived and I was impressed, so like a dummy, I went on a Christmas shopping spree on the nomorerack.com website.
I should have done my research, because I guess I figured they were somewhat like Amazon and actually selling quality products and would deal with any issues that came up. But that is not the case.
I ordered several little electronic items for my kids-- light up gadgets, an LED alarm clock with a light up dry erase board, head phones, and some earrings for my daughter. When everything arrived, I was pretty horrified. The stuff I got was 100% street circus Made in China total garbage! The instructions on the gadgets were 100% in Chinese-- no instructions in English. The boxes looked really cheap and cheesy... the items straight up looked like something you would buy at a flea market for $1. But I had paid $10-15 each thanks to the awesome photography on the nomorerack.com website, which I am not pretty sure pictures items similar to what I got, but of much higher quality. Or maybe the photos were airbrushed to make the stuff look less crappy. I don't know how they did it exactly, but I can tell you that what I received was NOT what I was expecting.
The website is well done, and the item listings are aesthetically pleasing with witty descriptions... but PLEASE BE WARNED.... the item listings/photos/descriptions are very exaggerated (at best), if not totally false. After reading other reviews about customer service and returns with nomorerack, I actually feel lucky that the stuff I received works at least, since it is of very poor quality/cheaply made.
Also, be sure you read the entire description, because I've noticed lots of items have a FINAL SALE disclaimer hidden somewhere in the listings, which means no returns even if it is junk or even broken. I won't be buying from the website again, now that I know they can't be trusted to be fair about returns and provide courteous customer service. If you do buy from nmr, just BE CAREFUL... And remember that if they rip you off and give you the run around, one of the failproof ways to deal with it is to call your credit card company asap and have them deal with it for you.
