I had my Corolla hit-and-run in my neighborhood outside of Pittsburgh about a month ago.  I was told by my insurance company, Geico (who was very nice), that they would set me up with a rental car with their company they use, Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  I was told by Geico that everything at the Enterprise in Wilkinsburg would be paid for by Geico, since I had rental insurance.

First of all, I had to miss a half-day of work because Enterprise "Pick you up" service was unavailable until the following day mid-day.  When I was picked up, the ride took about 5 minutes and I waited in line at the Enterprise in Wilkinsburg.  I was told by a sales associate, female, that I would have to pay an upcharge of 3.78/day due to Geico quoting me "wrong" on the phone.  This sales associate told me that I would HAVE to pay the extra 3.78/day regardless of whether I had their smallest car or not they offered.  This, 4 days later, was eventually corrected by a manager.  This manager, male, was very rude to me.  He said he would "let me keep the larger car" (even though I preferred the smaller one) and make an "exception" since I called Geico to complain about the upcharge.

2 weeks had passed, and my car was ready to be picked up.  Enterprise has a site in the South Hills that is connected to the body shop Geico set me up with, so I figured once my car was ready I could drop my huge car that I didn't want to begin with (Chevy Impala is huge for someone who drives a Corolla) conveniently.

The parking lot was completely full, so I started backing up a bit to let someone out and I bumped someone who was parked illegally behind me.  I was very upset, apologized, and exchanged insurances with the person I bumped.  The damage was merely a scratch on both bumpers, and I didn't hit my Impala's bumper to the parked car's bumper at more than rolling backwards at 2 miles an hour or less.  The damage was minimal, so I figured it would be OK.

I reported this incident to Geico, and the other illegally parked car's insurance called me for a statement as well.  On October 26th, 2012, Enterprise sent me a bill to my home for 814 dollars!  For a scratched bumper!!  This enraged me to the point of calling Enterprise and asking them how a scratch on the bumper made the car "undriveable for 2 days (which I was billed for), 100 dollars worth of administrative fees, and 600 dollars worth of damage to the bumper."  Enterprise also sent me "pictures" along with the statement that were so obviously doctored it made me sick.  Luckily I took pictures of my own, and they clearly do not match.

Now I am dealing with an 814 dollar bill with a company that I never wanted to deal with in the first place.  Even if Geico covered my "damages" to the Impala, I would still be paying 500 dollars.

By no way am I saying I didn't hit another car.  But, also, I know that there is NO WAY that there was 814 dollars worth of damage to the Impala.  Also, no one seems to be paying attention to the other driver, who was parked illegally during this incident.

I am a social worker.  I have never been in an accident in my LIFE (30ish years), and I don't have 814 dollars to burn.  Especially after my car was hit-and-run just a month before.  Enterprise is being deceitful about these damages, and I am frustrated that now I am dealing with a company that left a bad taste in my mouth from the first get-go.  Oh, and I've got a charge on my credit card from them for 52.13 and 15.37 from the date of the pick up of the car.  No one can explain that to me at Enterprise either.

Ugh!  Just beware... if you have a choice, do NOT choose this company!
