Enterprise Rent A Car Enterprise commited FLAT OUT FRAUD ON US, USING THE TELEPHONE AND CREDIT CARD TO GET THE JOB DONE Rapid City South Dakota

We were truly taken for a ride by this nasty Enterprise Rent
A Car in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Please, don't ever go there!

After having an accident which put our car out of commission, we had no choice but to rent a car, at least for a few days.  We called Enterprise in Rapid City, SD.  They said they had a "wonderful weekend special."  A Ford Focus was available for $12.99 per day, for three days, over the weekend.

The miles included in this "deal" were 300 for the three days, and 25 cents per mile, over the 300 miles.  The car was not driven over 325 miles altogether.

We had to give them a $150.00 deposit on a credit card, along with the $36.00 for the three days.  We were told we would get the deposit back when the car was returned.

When my husband got there the first morning, Enterprise put over $350.00 on the credit card, not $186.00 plus tax or whatever it should have been.

When the car was returned in pristine condition, they refunded the $150.00, but kept the balance, claiming they had said the car was $22.99 per day, for three days.  That's simply not true.  We were clearly told it was a "weekend special" which would be $12.99 per day, as indicated above.  (We filled the gas tank before returning the car, needless to say).

I do have a law degree but was not present when my husband made these transacations or I would have raised particular hell on the spot.  I intend to file a Formal Complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  This was clearly a case of being defrauded outright.  It is also Wire Fraud when they lie over the phone or even on a computer.

It's a dirty shame the world has gotten so ugly anymore.  There seems to be a creep around every corner these days, more than willing to rip people off and this Enterprise outfit is definitely one of them.  We can try to get the credit card company to withhold part of the payment but it's probably too late now.  Now I see why these bastards insist on a debit or credit card rather than taking cash or a check.  Oh, they said they would take a money order but you had to bring your life's history with you, as in ten utility bills to prove who you are.  In other words, they make that process so unpleasant that most people will simply break down and use a debit or credit card.  Unfortunately, that makes it so much easier for them to perform their rip-off activities.

I hope and pray that the Federal Government, as in the Federal Trade Commission and/or the Justice Department will investigate these b******* for their direct fraud and wire fraud.  Hopefully, a Class Action Lawsuit can eventually be brought against these thugs.  If you're reading this, please file a complaint also if you have been ripped off, and if you haven't been ripped off by this outfit, needless to say, stay away from them!  They clearly don't deserve to be in business!
